    Nikon warranty???

nikon warranty It's my understanding that Nikon warranty is for life and transferable. I listened to a sales person at Scheel's take five minutes trying to explain it to a woman one day. It was quite entertaining.

You're not a true American if you don't own a xxx

Pocket knife, Daisy red rider bb gun, Stevens single shot 22, and a bolt action Mossberg shotgun, and some ammo. Now those were the days my friend. You didn't have a total of $100.00 to fill all of your hunting needs. Life was so much simpler then wasn't it? :)

What is your favorite wildcat cartridge

Favorite wildcat Not sure if these are considered wildcats but they are the most fun for me. .256win mag, 7mm tcu, .30 herrit, 7-30 waters. I really enjoy reforming the brass and working up loads.

    I finally found it ...

43 here today in west central Wi. Only problem is, the range is closed on Sunday. I guess I'm not up to humping through the snow to hang rifle targets anyway. Would have been nice to get a handgun or two out though. It looks like we are in for some more nice days this week. I've got a list of...

Do you still have your first gun?

first gun Yes I do. It's a Stevens single shot 22. My dad paid $12.50 for it brand new as a 50% off deal for buying a side of beef and a side of pork from a local meat packing plant/ sporting outlet. They had these marked at $25.00. My brother and I begged for so long that the salesman told Dad...

    Why I reload

why I started reloading As many of us have, I started reloading to save money. At the time I had four or five weapons. Now, a few decades later I have over 50 because I like working up loads for all the different calibers. I do shoot every piece sometime through the year. I don't believe in...

    Powder in cannelure?

When the bullet is pulled, it drops the powder to the bottom of the puller, as well as the bullet. With the bullet lube in the groove, the powder could be clinging to that part of the bullet. It shouldn't be there from loading, unless the person loading the case, left case lube inside the case...

    Desert Eagle Brass

Stick a magnet to it. If it sticks it's steel. If not it's nickel plated brass.

Whats the most you have overpaid for an reloading item in this frenzy?

I'm glad I have a diverse collection of firearms. The components for some of them have went about as crazy as I can remember, but for some of the others, I can still find them in stock and reasonably priced. Who would have thought in a lifetime, that a $95.00 Chinese SKS would be selling for...

    This is crazy

Yes, this is the worst I've seen it in my four decades of reloading. Usually it's just one component, thats hard to find. Now it's just about everything. I know it makes me ration my reloading sessions. These winters are too long, not to have something indoors to do. Good luck to all.

    This is crazy

I'm starting to think, by the way people are buying, that we gun folks, are our own worst enemies. As long as we pay the price, things won't be getting any better any time soon. Free enterprize I guess!!

    Tumbling Loaded Cartridges

tumbling loaded rounds I've done it without any problem. I like to use very shiney cases when I shoot semi auto, so they are easier to spot on the ground after shooting. These old eyes need all the help they can get.

Looking for Powder Suggestions for 223 Bolt Rifle

223 powder I've had excellent results with Win 748 and 55gr V-max with my Rem 700. Also have used H335 and Varget with favorable results.

    small pistol primers (wow)

primer prices I must have missed something somewhere? I've only been reloading for 40 years. Way too young to remember the last election, or to understand economics. No book in the world, would make me believe that our oil companies, do not play the largest part in our gas prices. I agree that...

    small pistol primers (wow)

I finally found some small pistol primers today. WE stopped at a shop 60 miles from home and they had 2 bricks of Federal small pistol. Yes, the prices were inflated, as usual, but at least I'm back to reloading for some of my toys. I still can't understand this mess after every election. It...

    remington or winchester

I'm with you Cookie. I've owned both the Win 70 and the Rem 700 in several cal. The Rem 700's out shoot any the the Win. The Win. all shoot larger groops than the Rem. They're both great rifles, but for accuracy I'll take the Rem 700 anyday.

    45-70 berry's bullets

I just aquired a 23" bull barrel for my contender in 45-70. I've loaded a few 300 gr rem hp and a few 350 lazer cast with 40 gr and 38 gr loads of IMR3031 These loads were very easy on the shoulder and surprisingly accurate. I picked up a few Berry's 350 gr plated bullets but have found the...

    safe gun solvent

I have a serious lung condition that is making it dangerous for me, to use the more popular solvents for cleaning my guns. I am hoping someone here can tell me of a solvent that is more user friendly, as far as vapors. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
