I just 'shot' my crossbow in the basement and hit the target in the middle.
While I am a rifleman 99% I did get a bow decades ago and walked around with it but never got really interested.
However when my state made crossbows legal for hunting I did all that's necessary and also got one...
Offhand or standing practicing for hunting.
I need to practice shooting the hunting rifles more offhand.
I go the range frequently and shoot my rifles checking that they are sighted in and that they shoot a group just from the bench.
While I used to compete I don't shoot offhand anymore...
When I bring my S&W M63 into a shop to sell it they are going to ask me how much I want for it. I see them going for hundreds. New ones are 600 or so.
It's a little fired M63 SS, 4" bbl. like new in the box.
How much $ money should I say?
There was a fixed power riflescope obsession a while ago. Some seemed to dote on a 6X fixed.
Why I wonder?
Is it all that they have?
All that they can afford?
Poor eyesight requiring 6X minimum?
The 7mm Rem Mag I acquired a year ago turns out to have a 1-12" twisted barrel 24" long on a FN action.
The rifle shot the 120 gr Nosler BT well from the start and 130's and 140s are not accurate and tip.
The 110 gr Barnes TTSX's shoot well in it at 200 yds.
I could just keep the rifle cause...
What do you suggest for a good looking variable for this 7mm mag. custom?
I am leaning towards a gloss Leu. of about 3.5-10X.
The rings I am going to use are gloss and lower than those pictured.
"Former Vice President Dick Cheney’s gun malfunctioned before he could get a shot off at an antelope hunting contest in Wyoming on Sunday, according to a local ABC News affiliate.
“The Vice President is an excellent shot,” the captain of Cheney’s hunting team said. “He had a gun malfunction...
An article in Rifle magazine is called "the death of the WSM's".
It says that they did not catch on all that much and not that many rifles are so chambered.
It mentions that they are magnums without a belt but goes into detail on how the 300 WSM is not quite as big as the 300 Win. Mag...
To steady your aim with a .22 auto pistol reach out and hold the barrel with your thumb and finger.
It makes quite an improvement over a conventional two hand hold.
What do you think of this post I found on another forum?
"I shot 4 or 5 deer a day. I used a 22 LR with hollow points and solids, used heart and lung shots..I rode my horse to within 25 to 30 yards and shot each deer twice with my Win. 63 and immediatly rode off. I made about a 4 mile circle...
