New to the model 10 world

I found an interesting 4" Model 10-7 at my LGS. The cosmetic condition is average, but the lockup is rock solid with no wiggle. The S/N says AAN46XX and stamped on the backstrap "RHKP 2547" I believe it stands for "Royal Hong Kong Police". It has the half grips (shorter style) and they...

    454 or 45 Colt?

I recently purchased a 454/45 Colt Super Redhawk. I'm a veteran reloader of 20 years, but new to reloading these two calibers. I'm sure this question has been asked A LOT, but the wonderful internet is full of conflicting information. My research shows about 50/50... Half say you can use...

    360 DW Redhawk?

Some real good knowledge on this forum, and I would love to hear your opinions.... A guy from another forum gave me the idea of having my 357 Redhawk reamed to a 360 Dan Wesson. Since the cylinder is almost a 1/4" longer than my GP, I don't see why there should be a problem. I've heard...

    66-1 for a 27-2

I'm thinking about trading my 4" 66-1 for a 5" 27-2. They are both in really good shape. I baby my 66-1 so it doesn't get much range time with full powered loads, and I just thought it would be fun to have another range and hunting 357 with a little more heft. Losing a carry gun is not really...

    Walther 22 single-shot help?

This weekend I went to a swap meet and found a single shot 22LR. The gun was in poor condition, but the guy told me it shoots great. I asked, "how much?" and He said, "five dollars". Right after He said this another guy at the next table came running over while I was holding the rifle so I...

    Picked up a 681

Picked up a 681 today. $450 out the door in excellent shape. Lockup is rock solid on all chambers. I got my taxes back, hit the pawn shops, and this was the best deal I could find. I'll let you know how she shoots.:)

    Project 44 Astra

I wanted a 4" 44 for hiking and I got my wish. With a little help from a hack saw. :scrutiny: I came across a 6" Astra for cheap and for good reason. It would shoot a scattered 8" low at 15 yards even with the rear sight all the way up. We took care of that in an unsuspecting way.:D...

    Astra 44 Mag

I recently picked up an Astra 44 Mag. The side plate says "Astra" Spain "Interarms" Alexandria, Virginia. The gun appears to be in good condition. It reminds me of a 629 I once had. Any information about this gun would be appreciated. The quality seems to be pretty good.

    New SP101 22LR

Just received this hot off the press. I swapped out the factory grips for these Hogues. The Hogue grips really make a difference.

For dinner tonight we will be serving "plastic" crow.

Missed out on a model 64 snubby, but stumbled on a Ruger year-end liquidation sale. They had the 2012 22 LCRs marked down to $378. Being one of the biggest critics of "plastic" revolvers I was forced to sit down at tonight's dinner table and indulge in a fine dish of plastic crow. For...

Price check for Smith model 64 2"

Found a 2" 64 for $350. Lockup is tight and condition is good. This model has the firing pin on the hammer. Is $350 a fair price? The seller will not budge.

    Redhawk vs. Super Blackhawk

I know these 44s are both tough as nails, but I've always heard the Super Blackhawk is tougher. Not sure how this is possible when the Redhawk has a bigger cylinder (wider and longer). I have both and just compared their cylinders. This leaves me to wonder.... Do the older Super...

    Colt Trooper 357 Magnum

I purchased a Colt Trooper 357 at my LGS today. The bluing on the right side is almost perfect, but on the left about 80%. The lockup is rock solid and the grips are worn, but no cracks. Thanks to the link provided by Radacast in the sticky, the S/N puts it at 1967. I paid $380 out the door...

    Model 69 Smith price check

Local paper has a model 69 5" barrel 357 in excellent condition for $675. I'm not familiar with this model. Is this a descent price?

help with Rem 700 7mm mag

The date code on the rifle is RP and the SN# e6892XXX I found the Remington date code chart, but the second letter shows up for three different years 1923, 1967, 1995? I also need to know if it's an ADL or BDL. There are no other markings on the gun, but it does have the floor plate release...

    Adjustable or Fixed Sights

Through the years I've been a firm believer in adjustable sights, but after acquiring a couple fixed sight models, I've grown to appreciate some of the simple advantages they contribute. Am I drifting to the dark side or am I just a late bloomer? Is your favorite a fixed or adjustable, or are...

    Security Six reblued

My birthday present this year was to get one of my guns reblued. When I dropped the gun off a week ago, at a local gunsmith, I was worried. When I picked it up today I was amazed at the detail. He disassembled it, bead blasted, gave it a hot bluing, and reassembled it for a grand...

Would you buy a 7/8 shot 357 Redhawk?

The last few years Ruger seems to be stepping out and offering more of what the customer requests. Would you buy a Ruger Redhawk 7/8 shot 357? I think I would if it came in an 8 shot.
