I also want a good Plinker 9mm Revolver

New thread; don’t want to hijack this thread: https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/whats-a-good-plinker-9mm.926973/ I've not found the configuration I'd like in a 9mm revolver. Besides being a fun range gun, I’d like one for two reasons; so I don’t have to chase down my brass, and to...

    Unexpected Small Bonus

This came with a new CZ handgun. I've several, but haven't previously had this goodie included. It took me quite some time before I understood what it was. Is this something CZ includes with new firearms these days, or perhaps was this provided by the gun shop?

    How Do You Sort Pulls?

I've got a package of 1,500 .40 pulled bullets inbound. They're a mix of 165gr and 180gr. I figure I'd sort them by weight using a small digital scale, but wondered if sorting by OAL using calipers as a go/no-go gauge would work better. I want to make this very manual process as quick and...

I still have too many Golden Bullets

My 22LR preference these days is mid-range to target ammo, but I'm still trying to be rid of my Rem Golden Bullets from my almost decade old stash. It shoots very well in many of my 22s, and though it's dirty and fouls my revolver cylinders, the real reason I'll not go back once I'm done with...

    44 mag Wadcutters

This tread made me wonder if anyone makes wadcutter projectiles for the 44? I'd appreciate any suggestions. I didn't want to hijack it, so I started this thread. https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/accurate-5-and-44-mag-loads-for-240-swc-needed.912632/

    A Squib? Nope...

I hadn't had Callahan at the range for almost a year, and I was excited when he came up in the rotation when I was done shooting my 10mms. I loaded up 6 rounds of 755fps Cat Sneezes to warm up, but didn't pay close attention as I grabbed the cartridges. I was just too excited. Well I lit off...

The 10mm Semi-auto That I've Been Waiting For

The SIG P320-XTEN. Oh there have been others that have come close, but the XTEN finally checks all my boxes without need of aftermarket upgrades. What I've wanted out of the box: Made in USA Large capacity (15+1 rounds) Excellent (night) sights Excellent trigger Excellent grip which points well...

"New" Norma Tac-22, What's the Diff?

I didn't want to hijack another thread, but this link from the other thread is to the "new" Norma Tac-22 ammo page. Does anyone know what's "new" about it? I see from a box of my old stuff that velocity was listed at 1,100fps, and the new stuff page linked show 1,083fps. Anyone compared the...

    Primers in stock

TARGET SPORTS USA has primers in stock, $599/5000. Price gouging or fair game? I say free market fair game. No way I'd ever pay 12 cents per primer, but perhaps some would. Primers aren't necessary for my livelihood like foodstuffs, so I don't consider outrageous component prices gouging...

No Range Time for You (me)!

Sounds like the Soup Nazi. Well the heavy storms from last week and now some more rain yesterday raised the reservoir level such that the range closer to me is under water. Unless I want to drive an hour south, no range time for me for some time yet. :uhoh:

    Moly-coated bullets question

I started a new thread so as not to hijack another. Some time ago, I acquired some moly-coated bullets and was planning to use them as-is. But in this post, barnfrog removed the moly coating. I'm curious as to why. Any thoughts?

    Moving...argh!!!

We're moving to a new house. What a pain in the tuchus what with all my reloading gear and components. Lead is dense and thus projectiles are heavy, that's a given. What surprised me is how heavy my brass is. Still so many boxes to pack and move...

    Ever dealt with DACK Outdoors?

They have a good price on a Bergara BMR, even with their $20 shipping. I've never done business with them, have you? What has been your experience? Payment is CC not that crazy Zelle or bitcoin. They appear legit.

    Well shoot...

Just trudged 100 yds through a muddy range to hang my 12" sight-in target and back, cleaned ~3 lbs of clay mud off my boots, setup my gear and Rem 788, settled in and took a peek through the scope and saw this! RATS! A bunch of pasters had fallen off...guess it's time to quit being so cheap...

    Firearms Vendor...Your Opinion?

I see that an online vendor called "GunStuff TV" out of Cave Creek, Arizona has a particular CZ rimfire in stock. Have any of you done business with them and if so, how do you rate your transaction? I appreciate your feedback, in advance.

Quick Disconnect scope mounts --> Return to Zero?

My CZ455 Trainer has excellent tangent sights which I like to shoot siluetas offhand out to 100m. But I also like to benchrest it for some good old group therapy. Going back and forth was a PIA, having to sight in the scope time and again. Well, I found the answer to my dual challenge. Warne...

    Dirty 22LR Ammo...Who Cares?

I've read many posts on how dirty some 22LR ammo is. Well Rem Golden Bullets are indeed dirty, but makes no difference to me. I put 150 rounds of it through the M617, and they were flawless and decently accurate, offhand to 15 yds. Great stuff for cheap loose bulk ammo.

    I wonder...Vacuum Sealing Ammo

Nice general ammo storage/rotation/supply article This post ^^^ reminded me of this: I've wondered if vacuum sealing in a bag is a good idea. I've done this to some bulk 22LR several years ago and it's held up fine with no noticeable detrememental effect. It shoots like new. My wondering is...

A S&W Day at the Range

Was a beautiful and hot day in Rosharon, and so I took these revolvers out for a spin. I was shooting offhand at 17yds, and didn't have spectacular results, but had a great time nonetheless. Fun DA action in the M617 and some spicy 10mm out of the M610. From time to time the 460V makes it to...
