    Out of state purchase

EDIT! Disregard. I didn't realize you MUST go through FFL in the state you reside. Doesn't make sense to me in this day and age.

    Other Torque Screwdriver Uses

What are other uses for torque screwdriver besides scope mounting. Trying to decide if I should get one. I've never assembled anything that says that it needs a specific torque setting before with screws.

Just a .22 Parallax Scope Poll

Just vote for the poll. Curious on people's thoughts. Comments welcome. Thanks THR. PS - I know there is no perfect answer as it depends on target shooting, plinking, etc. Just go with your gut!

Sorry for more rookie scope questions

Ok, I'm set on a Nikon scope now and was ready to order than I googled how to install a scope properly. Glad I did, not a simple task for those who have never done it and I'd need some more tools it seems. Few questions. Is a two piece scope mount more likely to give me troubles than a one...

    Scope Information Overload - rimfire

I'm hoping this great forum can help me make a quick decision and just enjoy my new purchase. I shot a friends M&P 15/22 a few months ago and it was great fun. He had a scope on it and it was just a joy to shoot. We weren't doing anything serious with high precision, just having fun. He just...

Any ideas on what went wrong

So, I have shot my cz p-01 twice now. First time I shot it, I did really well. I shot it with 9mm and with .22lr Kadet conversion. I was getting nice groups around the X from 9yards to 15 yards. Not saying I'm a marksman but it was a good grouping for me. Consistently slightly high and...

To mod or not to mod - better shooter?

So, I'm getting caught up in all the mods I could do to my two CZ's. It is fun to work on the guns I admit, but would training on a factory spec gun actually help you learn to shoot better? Appreciate everyone's thoughts.

    Yesterday was a good day.

Another new gun! ;) First I went to the store, dead set on getting a CZ P-01 in OD Green. I liked it and thinking to myself, it is very similar to what I have. I asked the guy behind the counter what else should I look at. He is a big Glock fan, so he convinced me to go test drive a Gen 4...

Happy but looks like I need to file! :-/ (Kadet Kit)

I'm glad I got my Kadet 2, but as expected I'm going to have to file it to fit my SP-01. Any tips before I start? It kinda looks like I need to file the side and the bottom.

OEM Spring Weights and Hammer Change question on Kadet (Cz 75 SP-01 Tactical)

I'm trying to find out the standard spring weights for the CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical OEM Recoil Spring - 18# (I think) OEM Mainspring - ??# (can't find) I'm trying to ask as I'm getting a Kadet II kit and I hear you can't change the mainspring to light otherwise the Kadet won't fire properly...

So hard waiting....Are CZ Production Numbers Low compared to others????

So, I'm waiting on 2 items from CZ before buying anymore. I've put less than 600 rounds through my SP-01 and I shoot (what I would call) well with it. I'm wanting a PCR and a Kadet. Might get a P-01, but want the PCR for CCW as it seems to make a little more sense (chamber indicator and no...

    Replace sear after 1000rds?????

I have what I'd call a new gun. ~600 rds through it. Cz 75 sp-01 tactical I'm look at some modifications to it and reading on Cajun gun works site and it says replace sear after 1000rds? :uhoh::uhoh::uhoh: Really? I plan on putting thousands through it. I have to do that very often? If...

Quick access pistol safe (night stand)

This fingerprint sentry safe seems to be popular on Internet searches. Anyone have any feedback on it? This isn't for theft, just keeping my kids out and immediate access if needed at night of course. Amazon link to product

    what size brass hammer

Can I just ask what size brass hammer should I get? I'm getting Craftsman punch sets (roll pin and standard). I'm guessing I'll be using the 1/16th, 3/32nd and 1/8th the most as I'll initially be doing pistol work. Do I get a 2/4/6/8/12 oz hammer? Thanks THF

Do you like to shoot the same brand or various

So, I have one gun. CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical. I got it b/c I wanted a heavy (read light recoil) gun to learn on and for home defense. Wanted the rail for laser/light attachment. Toyed with the idea of suppressing it, but after reading up on liability of a suppressor, I decided against it (for...

Recoil spring changes after reduced hammer spring install?

So, my CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical cycles fine currently as OEM. I'm going to do a 13# hammer spring and extended firing pin. Might do reduced trigger spring also and a reduced reset, but doing just hammer spring and firing pin first. Reason I'm doing this is because SA is hard for me to...

    Basics, using the right punch.

So there are 3 types of punches I guess. Forgetting the center punch for now. For the rolled pins, like the one on the rail of the CZ 75 below, do you use the roll pin punches? I see some that don't have the ball on the end. When do you use these?

    Beginner gunsmithing....aka learning from youtube

I know there are plenty of "professionals" out there on youtube. I see some scary stuff where people are less then genteel. :what: However, has anyone done this kit install themselves? Ultra-Lite CZ75 or the more advanced. Short Reset System Also, will I have to sand/file anything for a...

Any truth to what my gun shop is saying?

So, I have a CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical 9mm. I'm not horrible with it, but I need practice. Would like to get a .22lr to practice my general skills. Down to two choices Browning Buck Mark Ruger SR22 Both feel great in my hand. The gun shop says if I want more transferable experience to my...

When changing clips, should I have to slightly rotate my hand to eject clip?

When shooting my CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical (rubber grips), I have to rotate my hand ever slightly to get a good press on the clip release. I can do it without rotating, but it is a strain for sure. Is this normal or do I need a thinner grip as my hands aren't as big as the average person? I have...
