    Thoughts on this?

    When you first purchase a new BP firearm do you need to break it down and give it a good cleaning? I've noticed that they come somewhat lubed and packaged well. My purchase was a urberti 58 in .44cal. Any opinions would be greatly welcomed...thank y'all in advance. This lady loves to shoot! BP Tess

    Well, speaking of being laughed at...try being a woman and walk out on the range with all of my BP gear, set up and have a 5 yr old right there by my side watching Mom shoot her 58 urberti. That draws alot of attention...maybe laughts at first, but after I load up and fire that first cylinder...

    What happens to the inside of the barrel during these processes? I'm assuming that rust will also form inside there too! Should you plug up the barrel somehow or just keep brushing the rust out between dippings.:confused:

    Antique or Browned barrels!

    Thanks...I guess "aging" is the term I'm looking for. I want it to look used and a some type of brown color. I just don't want to ruin my gun and many of yours look so nice after this process. By the way...nice pics so far!

    Alittle rust in the barrel
