    Powder prices? Seriously?????

https://legaldictionary.net/price-gouging/ "Price gouging is a term that refers to the practice of raising the price of goods, services, or commodities, to an unreasonable or unfair level. Such an increase in price is often a result of a sudden increase of demand and shortage of goods, such as...

New Ruger Precision Rifle - Chamber too short??

Have you tried any factory ammo and does it chamber properly? As others have suggested check with go-nogo gauges or ask your friendly local gunsmith to check it. If it fails this check send it back to Ruger. I have an RPR in .308 and it is a well made accurate rifle. I've done the same...

    Powder prices? Seriously?????

This is price gouging at it's finest. Buying only encourages the behavior. Exactly this. .40

    DIY induction annealer

I looked at induction and salt bath annealing when I was shopping around for a machines but I chose propane. At the end of the day, it was lack of auto-feed options that put them in the NO column. Heating up the brass is only part of the solution. I would really like to see an induction...

    measuring Trail Boss

RCBS Chargemaster works well for TB. I've noticed it takes longer to weigh out a charge with the extra time at the end to drop the last bit. I've run it through a Hornady powder measure before and had similar issues. .40

Large Pistol Primer vs Small Pistol Primer on 45 acp

A travesty is what it is. If LPP's were good enough for John Moses Browning, that's good enough for all time. I toss spp .45 brass since I don't stock spp or load anything else that uses a spp. .40

Questions about FA primer seating tool

I generally prime on the press. From the presses that I've used over the years, the best on-press priming is the Forster Co-Ax by far. Machined shelf stops crushing and consistently seats to .005" depth. Short strokes once in the grove 5-6 cases a minute is possible. Unique "leaves" adjust...

    reloading re-start

The linked item isn't really suitable. The reality is no matter how strong it is built for downward pressure, it is not heavy enough to support much upward pressure on the handle. This will become very apparent the first time a piece of brass gets stuck in the die. .40

45lc lever gun, Ruger only loads?

From my understanding, Henry's are NOT rated for Ruger/TC load levels. .40

    What good is this rifle?

I have the Henry with brass receiver. Holds 10 rounds. More fun than a barrel of Monkeys. Currently deployed in a home defense role. .40

    Optimal press height?

I have one of each using inline fabrication quick change mounts...seated or standing depending on the job. Seated is much more comfortable for a long throw, weigh, and trickle session. Standing seems best for FL sizing. .40

Thinking about my first reloading upgrade

I've got a Redding beam scale and an RCBS charge master. They are both accurate to .1gr (tenth) of a grain. Speed of throwing charges and trickling up is about the same. The charge master is easy because it does most of the work for you. That said, these and most "reloading" scales fall into...

    Concentricity; THR cost me $130!

$130....?...grins. You got off easy. It would take a while to go through all of the receipts to come up with a figure. I suspect for 2020 somewhere in the neighborhood of $3500 - $4000. Why? Because this makes an indelible grin. Stats - Average 2939.51 fps Stats - Highest 2947.21 fps Stats...

How Much Difference Does Brass Make?

Can make a big difference depending on the use case as AJC1 said. Assembling some blasting ammo for plinking / practice drill is a different animal compared precision match target ammo. .40

    Losing Interest in Reloading

Over the last 30+ years my interest has waxed and waned with the times. At times, there was a surfeit of funds and no time and other times we were short on funds but had plenty of time. Other roles in life, marriage, kids, relocating for work, other hobbies, and such caused the river to change...
