The following is a link to an article discussing a method to treat ammo with 'encoded' pollen. I can see the gun grabbers all over this - impact on shooters and reloaders could be a nightmare.

Was talking with a fellow at the gun club today - the subject came up about grip safeties on 1911's. I mentioned that I dimly recalled seeing one without a grip safety. Was there/is there one out there? Just curious.
I'm quite happy with a long and/or stiff trigger on a pocket gun like the Guardian (I want exactly ONE hole per pocket), but this must be well in excess of 15 pounds. Any suggestions on safe effective ways to lighten it up a bit? Will it ease up if I 'dry fire' it a few hundred times?
I have a friend who's getting into cowboy shooting, but has only one of the older style Vaqueros - he needs a mate for it.
Anyone know of a source for the older models (before they thinned the grip/handle)? He doesn't need a new one; a solid used one would be fine.
Grip is great, safety isn't too stiff on this example, trigger is within reason and should smooth out over time. It *is* a chunky little fellow, but that's OK. No time to shoot it but had time for a quick photo. Here it is:
Beretta 9000s .40
Update: Just shot it. I found the DA trigger to...
Don't know why, exactly. I like compact guns and the novel lines of the 9000s intrigue me. It's mass/width would normally be a negative as I buy for concealment - but I don't have a Beretta and this doesn't look *that* big. I understand the trigger isn't the smoothest, but in a defense-carry...
Just put one on lay-away it looked and felt so good.
I don't see it on the Taurus site and can find very little googling. Generally, what's the reputation of the gun, and specifically, what does the CS stand for?
Happened to see an Accu-Tek/Excel Industries, Inc in .380, sort of a PPK clone. What's the story on them? Any good?
To answer my own question.... I did some Googling and the only references were not good ones - they get mentioned in crime reports in situations where you would find a Jennings or...
What's the recommended standing posture when shooting an AR-15? In particular, is it elbow-up or elbow-down? And do you cheek-weld to the stock?
Hey, I'm a pistol guy - cheek-welding is NOT recommended on a 1911. :)
I'm mostly a semi-auto pistol guy, but since you can't swing a dead cat without hitting somebody talking about their 'black rifle' I got interested, then tempted, then committed... so I just bought my first AR-15 carbine - a DPMS Model A-15 lower and (I believe) an Armalite upper - various other...
I'm mostly a compact semi-auto guy, but lately I've been drawn to getting a basic AR-15 - it'll be the second gun I've wanted more for historical/collecting purposes than as a regular shooter (though I'll be shooting it, don't get me wrong) My question: What's the best buy in the format? I...
I've got an FEG PMK .380 and am wondering if Walther PPK grip panels would fit it. The panels on it now have a thumb ridge, and I really don't like it. Further, I'd really like to put some fine wood panels on it.
I'm considering refinishing a used SIG I just acquired. The finish on the frame is in pretty good shape, but the slide is showing a great deal of holster wear.
I note that several do-it-yourself coatings such as those mentioned in the subject line require good prep for a good finish - often...
Walked into a shop today - not really planning on buying anything, and saw a nice little Taurus .38 in the case. I asked to see it, found the trigger as smooth and silky as any Smith & Wesson I've ever handled. Everything about it was just right. Price was typical for a Taurus of this type...
Ordered a 9mm RAMI in Polymer - should be in next week. Anyone have experience with this model?
Also, according to some CZ promotional material I recently saw, the frame has a 'new aggressive grip' molded in - the images on the cz site show a very smooth grip.
On January 1, 2007, Kansas will 'go live' with their concealed carry law - I'll likely carry a .40 - but my wife is still up in the air on what to carry. I've got a Taurus 94UL in .22LR and I was wondering if it should be in the list of 'possibles'. (Others include a Kahr CW9 or a SA XDSC 9mm)...
