    Why buy multiple AR lowers?

Resale my boy..... Resale. A lot of folks think that they will be able to turn a quick buck if the AWB II goes through by reselling a $200 lower (the part that the ATF considers the "gun") at inflated prices due to the artificial lack of supply and the consistent or increased demand.

.45 ACP stories self defense/hunting/having fun

Welcome to THR I once hit a golf ball at about 30-35 yards with the first shot with my HK USP 45. My friend bet me 10 bucks that I couldn't do it again, so.... I put another ball on the stump and then I took careful aim and... OMG! I hit it again. He then bet me double or nothing and I said...

    HK USP CT for CCW?

I have 2 USP 45F's The first was the first gun that I bought, and as such, I have carried (when I lived in a free state). I will say that it is "less than ideal" as a CCW, but I do have the upmost faith in my USP's. The first one has almost 10K rounds down the pipe with only one FTF... And...

    All around rifle...PEASE HELP

Another Vote For THe 6.5 Grendel... While it is not cheap, the 6.5 Grendel is the 1 rifle the I would shoulder if I could only have 1 rifle. From 0-300 yards it flat out beats the 223/ 5.56 and matches the 6.8SPC. Some where in the distance it beats out the 308 (with 40-50% less recoil). On...

How To Read The Bill Of Rights:

As a student of history Particularly the revolution, it is crystal clear that the constitution was designed to give the federal government specific powers, but only those outlined. The constitution was a limiting document meant to prevent any portion of the government from taking too much...

    The best reloading dies

I like Redding dies For rifle work their competition seating die with the micrometer adjustments is the easiest to adjust, and more importantly, easiest to duplicate adjustment system that I have ever used.

M4 questions - trapped in NY

Welcome to THR I too am trapped behind enemy lines. To the best of my knowledge, pre-ban rifles were made by Colt, Armalite, bushmaster, and various other companies, but to be considered pre-ban they had to be registered as such. Colt made quite a few different models, but the HBAR was a...

    .357 first timer help

I would go with the Ruger Gp100 I would prefer the 4" bbl because you said that it will see most of its time as a house/ cabin/ woods/ ATV gun, and only occasional carry. The GP is a good solid 357 and will suit you well. I did have a tracker 4" 357, and while it was a good gun for the money...

What is the most dangerous predator?

Zombie... No, zombies are not the most dangerous.... I was referring to this thread... revived from the dead. Someone said: There is a lot of truth to this. In times of famine, lone wolves have been known, (and video taped) to attack and kill brownies. Most times these are young, old...

Moose Kill Question From An Ex Hunter....

I vote yes But, if it were me, I would not use a 270, well, that said, I never really liked the 270 anyway. Nothing factual against it, I just grew up using a '06 and it did all I ever asked it to, so why bother? All that aside, the 270, with proper bullet choice has enough umph to get to...

    1911 Full Length Guide Rods?

Flgr I have always heard that they reduce "spring binding" which I always believed to be crap anyway. I feel that they serve no useful purpose, and in fact, I have experienced a few instances personally where they caused malfunctions.

    Hollow point ammo for 1911

I like The Remi 185's (+P or standard) for my 1911's and USP45. The TAP 200's are quickly becoming my go-to SD load in my USP45. THe Fed Hydra Shock's are standard 45 fodder

Bad AD today..not me. kinda explicit.

1911's... Not only that.... But you can begin field striping the 1911 with the safety on. Also, not that it advisable, but you can field strip a HK USP with a live round in the chamber. I have not tried this personally, but I have done it with a snap cap, and it is possible. Clearly...

Just bought TWO AR-15's..Which one do I keep?

Well Replacing Just the bolt may not do what you think. The locking lugs on the bolt wear along with their corresponding lugs in the barrel. The lugs in the barrel have worn to that specific bolt. If they are extremely worn, a new bolt might not be more reliable or make the gun shoot better...

Just bought TWO AR-15's..Which one do I keep?

Give him the Stag... Then sell the Colt. You can probably get about $1000, depending on the condition simply because it is a Colt. Then use that money (plus a little more) to buy your self a LMT or Sabre Defense AR. Or get another Stag and spend the rest on ammo. See. Problem solved.
