    7.62x39

I remember handling one at a show in 2009 and it seemed so front-heavy! It had the sporter/hunting-style stock. I thought $250 was too much at the time! I kinda wish I had picked it up...that stock was probably more comfortable than a standard AK stock, even if it didn't have the classic looks.

    New to me k11

Oooh that's actually an 1896/11, and a nice one at that. The K11 is a bit shorter with a slightly different stock shape. Serial number ranges are at the bottom of this page: https://www.swisswaffen.com/modell-1896-11-infantry-rifle/ig9611/wcl8gdzislky

    Natchez promotional code

If you're OK with getting an email or two every day, they make no secret of their codes if you sign up for their list. They have free shipping and 10% often enough that I usually can wait for a code for anything I'd need.

Keep .280 Rem or sell for something else?

You can load up a bazillion plinking rounds for cheap with this deal: These bullets are almost as cheap as primers! In all seriousness though, if you're set up to reload anyway, no need to switch.

Ruger 7 1/2" Bisley holster fit

Anybody ever try a Ruger Bisley in one of these? Now, before anyone says "just scroll down!", I know what it says below: The Bisley is clearly listed, but I've been "had" by Midway before with holster fit on a Hunter 1100! What I'm looking for is someone with first-hand experience...

    Anyone seen these before

They were $32 on Amazon back in December and now they're up to $35! I bought one as a compact .22 scope. They're branded as Keschi on Amazon but mine showed up with imitation Leupold packaging and paperwork (some of the words were mis-spelled!). I wish mind had come unbranded instead of...

    2024 Hodgdon Annual Manual

While we're on the (side) topic, Lee's first edition is available for free and has the basic info you're referring to available for anyone: https://archive.org/details/Modern_Reloading_1st_Edition_by_Richard_Lee/

Which Guns Would You Pick If You Don't Reload?

9mm and .223! Not worth the time at this point for plinking ammo. Primers are 8 or 9 cents each to restock with, so you might save 3 - 5 cents per round by reloading FMJ 9mm. It would take a long time to load more than a box or two on a single-stage press, so it's not worth the time for me...

    Colt M4 Handguard Removal

Good advice! My wife and I had to combine forces with a pair of those after I tried it on my own and put a small scratch on the carry handle. Must depend on the rifle though -- a few years later, I watched a friend of mine pull his rifle-length handguards off with his bare hands and think...

    Yugo m24/47 Mauser

Those are my favorite of the Mausers. They have all my favorite features: bottom sling, straight bolt, full handguard, flat buttplate, manageable length. Price was good, and the sight hood and sling are bonuses that you don't get every time. 8x57 is still around as surplus, but it's not a...

    I’m done buying “range bags”

I misread this as "Your buddies only laugh until you shoot them. That tends to quiet them down." I was thinking you must have a really poor sense of humor!

    Anyone painted their reloading bench?

No, but I've thought about it. I'd be interested to see what others have done.

Best .22LR ammo for my Single Six? for gifts?

Of the ones you listed, I think CCI Standard Velocity has the best reputation. My favorite thing about the Single-Six is that they'll gobble up pretty much anything though. On top of that, even dirty ammo is OK because they're so easy to clean too -- just pop out the cylinder, wipe/brush out...

Colt New Frontier… You Colt purists hate it?

The front sights are ugly but I'd not hesitate to own one to shoot. I'd be seeing what I could hit at 75 and 100 yards with that!

Thinking about acquiring foreign milsurp rifle

Entropy is right. I put these right there with the Finnish M39 too. They have U-notch rear sights and flat-top front blades. These are much easier to use than the inverted-V Mauser 98 sights or coarse metric Soviet sights. 6.5x55 is easier to reload than 7.5x55 for a K31 (where you'd need to...
