The one with John Kerry looks like they got him in the process of bringing the gun up or down. If you notice his thumb its bent as if about to release the safety, or putting it on after just having shot. I could be wrong, but it looks like somebody was trying to make him look bad in the picture...

you can find a used Remington 870 or Mosberg 500 for cheap. both are great guns and will last for a life time. sm didn't say it but he recommends 28 gauge :D

for those of you guys that don't know this is a snipe just use a 12 or 20 gauge with 2 3/4 and 8 shot. mainly any shotgun with 8 shot. i don't know about 28 or .410. when they take off, they'll zigzag from side to side making it hard to hit them. its a LOT of fun though. :D
