Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA? Well, if you look at the CA penal code, there are a couple exemptions to the AOW/SBS/SBR prohibitions in 12020. A couple of the 12020 exemptions do not require CA DOJ permission to acquire an AOW/SBS/SBR, just Federal NFA permission. If we follow the...

    Confused about shipping handguns.

OK, since you are probably a CA-resident, any non-Rostered ( http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/ ) handguns you own are worth a premium here in CA. Reason being, CA-residents can't buy non-rostered handguns and have them shipped to their local dealer. It must be a PPT (Person-to-Person) Transfer done...

URGENT: Calls & letters to support Nordyke RKBA Incorporation!

They aren't gonna just wipe out all gun laws at the moment they incorporate Nordyke. What would happen is that with a positive incorporation ruling in our pocket, we would then be able to file suits that would start gettng some of those laws ruled unconstitutional.

    C&R FFL 03 question

That is because for any other type of FFL, the dealer can confirm the authenticity of hte FFL via the FFL insta-check website. However, 03's are not insta-checkable since some C&R FFL's argured that was a security problem for people to be able type in random numbers and be able to be shown that...

    Cavalry Arms Raid +150 Days

You can, as long as it is off-list and not in AW config. As long as you do a fixed-mag build with a Bullet Button, P50, or B15, you should be fine. Have it modded before it comes instate.

Is CA a Class 3 state?

CA is a very limited "Class 3" state. Pretty much all NFA stuff is technically legal, you just have to have NFA and CADOJ permission. Getting a DOJ weapons permit for NFA stuff is just about impossible. However, there are a couple NFA items that do not require CADOJ permission. AOWs(except...

Shipping a Rifle upper to California question?

Its perfectly legal to ship an upper to CA. Possession of an upper is not a crime. It could be used on a registered AR or an off-list lower in a legal configuration. The only time I'd be concerned is if you were shipping a pistol-length upper. SBR issues could pop up if they buyer did not...

To the NRA from your newest member: I'm sorry.

There are multiple lawsuits being filed in Chicago. SAF filed in like 15 minutes after Heller was announced, and the NRA has/is filing suits in Chicago as well.

LEO guns for the non-LEO buyer?

One major difference is that a "LEO" gun has not had the 11%? federal excise tax paid on it that the civilian version did have paid on it. So, in order to properly sell an LEO gun to a civilian, the FET would need to be paid. That may be the paperwork headache mentioned above.

    C&R question

Not sure why a C&R could think that. The NFA C&R section specifically states that they are still subjecto to all the controls of the NFA. What is nice is that the C&R NFA firearm can be directly shipped to the C&R holder interstate after the Form 4 is approved. No instate dealer needed.

Bohica ar 50bmg uppers for under $1k

Yup, a drilled hole would be a good idea. IIRC, one of the new single-shot lower manufacturers was even possibly willing to pre-drill the hole if he got exact location specs from Bohica.

    Mythbusters and guns :-)

Actually, they were using a .40 Glock in that experiment. The nararator was correct in saying that the bullet fired was bigger than the chamber of the revolver, just mispoke on the actual size. The sergeant involved clarifed that on ARFCOM, IIRC.

Why do some transfer FFL charge sales tax and some don't?

NV and FL law are most likely different from CA in regards to sales tax on transfers. CA's Board of Equalization (sales tax collectors) regards a dealer transfer to be a drop shipment, and that makes the CA dealer the retailer in the BOE's eyes. Here is a thread with some of the...
