    .357/38 tube fed semiauto?

Does any such beast exist? I really love shooting my revolver and reloading the .357 is about as easy as it gets. I've been thinking about getting a carbine to go with it. I'm leaning towards a Marlin 1894c because I like the idea of putting an aperture sight on the receiver, but a semiauto...

Leather J Frame Belt Holster: What did I get?

I picked this up at a local pawn shop out of a bin of holsters. Most were junk and I got this one for $15. I've been wanting something for my S&W mod 38 and this works well. It was made by Hunter, but I think the uppermost snap was added later. The original one won't work with the grip...

    M1 Carbine with Remington 5 1/2 primers

I had a thread going on this a while ago, but it was lost during a recent board upgrade. Anyhow, I had trouble finding small rifle primers at the time. I figured that since I was using H110, and small pistol primers are the same dimensions, I thought I'd give them a shot. Long story...

    Kimber Classic Stainless

I've been in the market for a 1911. The SR1911 is set up almost exactly how I would like, but the are rare as hen's teeth. I have a line on a Kimber Classic Stainless. This is the pre-series II gun. The only thing I don't like are the forward cocking serrations. The gun is in good shape...

    Paper shells

I have a couple of partial boxes of 12ga paper shells...Winchester and Federal (Monarch). They appear to be in good shape. These belonged to my grandfather, and I am going to use the boxes to decorate in my office, but I want to know if I should shoot these shells, set them aside as...

M1 Carbine 30 Round Magazine Pouches

I'm going to take an introductory carbine course next month, but I don't have an AR. I'm going to use my M1 carbine for which I have 30 and 15 round magazines. I'm looking for something simple to hold the spare 30 rounders on my hip. Has anyone found something that works well? Do the 30...

BK Grip Adapter on my S&W Mod. 38

This is my Model 38 with the BK Grip Adapter on it. It really improves the feel of this gun in my hand. The adapter isn't a show-piece but it is very functional and I am really happy with it. I am looking forward to getting one for my Combat Masterpiece.

    AR SBR Question

I understand that the lower is the firearm, so is it legal to use a single lower with multiple short uppers so you could change between 5.56, 9mm, and .22? Can you effectively do this with the AR platform?

    Wingmaster Super Magnum

The Remington 870 Wingmaster was made with a 3.5 inch chamber for one year in 2000. I have no idea how many were made. At the time, I was in college and bought one new. It was a month and a half's rent, but I had different priorities then. Anyhow, my 11-87 is and was my primary shotgun and...

Relieved front slide portion on a 1911

The thread on front slide serrations got me thinking about this. I don't care for front slide serrations myself, but I do like the profile of my hi power. Has anyone milled those down to give a profile like Wilson's "carry cuts" or a hi power slide? I understand the mechanics of the gun...

Just a Funny Discovery with .30 Carbine

I finally took our my Underwood and it shot wonderfully. It really was a joy to shoot. I shot Remington factory ammo and saved the brass. I don't have dies yet, but I dropped the brass in my vibrating tumbler with the 9x19 brass I had shot as well. It turns out that the .30 carbine fits...

    First M1 Carbine

Well, I picked it up last night. It's a definite mix master from a pawn shop. I'm no expert, but I've been reading this forum for a couple of months while deciding on a purchase. Here is some info from a field stripping. Receiver: Underwood 1.362 million (this looks pretty early) Barrel...

Cast Lead in an M1 Carbine

Tried this in the rifle forum and thought it would fit here too. I am getting an M1 carbine and have a question about feeding it. I have read warnings about using lead bullets in gas operated semi-autos before, but it looks like a lot of folks use cast bullets for their M1 carbines. Is...

Lead Bullets in an M1 Carbine

Not sure if this is the best spot, or the reloading forum, but here goes. I am getting an M1 carbine and have a question about feeding it. I have read warnings about using lead bullets in gas operated semi-autos before, but it looks like a lot of folks use cast bullets for their M1 carbines...

New to the M1 Carbine: Advise Please

I've had a yearning for one of these for a long time and came across one at an LGS. It is a '43 Underwood w/ adj. sight and bayo lug. Receiver and barrel appear to match but the recoil plate is a Rock Ola, so it's a bit of a mismatch. The gun is not a show piece with some rust on the bayo...

    Grip Question

I want to put some different grips on a square but K-frame S&W for carry. I have magnas now, and think a t-grip would help, but I am also thinking about a pair of smooth (not finger grooved) boot grips. My hands are small enough that I think all three fingers will fit on the boot grip without...

    Victory Model Grip Question

I've posted about my Victory Model before. It was refinished shortly after the war and wears a set of high-horned diamond magnas. I will be moving those to the '52 Combat Masterpiece I picked up, which begs the question, how to dress the VM? I have looked for VM grips but don't see many...

New to Me S&W 38 Bodyguard

I've wanted an S&W airweight for some time and have handled and shot several 642s and 442s. I've also been drawn to older Smiths. Now I have both with a 38 no dash. I asked about the age in the DOB thread and know it was made between '57 and '62. I am a big fan of the looks of the flat latch...

Gun Specific Question about 9mm 115 gn XTP

I am going to start reloading for 9mm for a Charles Daly hi-power. I'll be using W231 (not the best for this, but it's what I have to start with since I use it a lot for .38 spl). The manuals give COAL of 1.075 up to 1.125 and charge weights of 4.1 to 5.2 grains, depending on the source...

Lead Bullets in a Hi Power

I have a Hi-Power clone (Charles Daly) on lay away. It will be my first 9mm, and I might as well reload for it like my other guns. I mostly load cast lead and am leaning towards Missouri Bullets' SmallBall (125 grn lrn). I have w231/hp38 that I use a lot and would like to stick with those...
