Push Second Amendment on "Your Interview with the President"

Right now, at http://www.youtube.com/whitehouse you can post your questions to ask the president, and more importantly, vote for the questions you like best. If we work together, both our community, and involve other online communities, we can push this through. Let the other online firearms...

What about the Winchester 190 .22 auto

I don't know much about the subject, but it might be worth your while to drill a crack stop hole so the crack does not continue to propagate. I checked with a magnet (I guess I will have to advance the homemade demagnetizer project now!) and the bolt is steel, while the trigger/hammer group...

What about the Winchester 190 .22 auto

But how hard is it to detail strip and put back together?

What about the Winchester 190 .22 auto

In a moment of weakness I bought a Ted Williams 3T (Sears rebadged 190) for $70 as my first rifle instead of holding out for a bolt action (to go with my Sig Mosquito. Yay for ammunition commonality). I field stripped it and cleaned it, was a little overdue for cleaning, but no rust, and the...

    590 for hunting review

Speaking from theory I have learned so far, It sounds to me like you really need a choke in order to get a tight enough pattern for a humane, quick kill.

Why so many makers use AUS-8 instead of 440C?

Also keep in mind that AUS 8 is easier on tooling and grinder wheels than 440C.

    Recommendations on a neck knife?

While the concept of carrying a knife pointing at my neck keeps me from carrying one in that fashion, I do own and recommend Cold Steel Spikes in the original and Scimitar patterns. Since they are primarily defensive blades, the edgeholding of their 420 steel is not as much of an issue as would...

    Warhammer

And then came sharp-rocks-on-sticks. Which begat sticks for throwing sharp-rocks-on-sticks, and also sticks-and-strings for throwing sharp-rocks-on-sticks. And so on.

    s30v/ CPM-s30v questions

That rumor does have a grain of truth: Previously Spyderco used CPM 440V, later renamed CPM S60V, in some knives. In theory it showed great promise as a cutlery steel. Almost every steel used in knives (including CPM S60V) is a "hand me down" from other applications. CPM S60V could not be...

    Overwhelmed with waterstone choices

Japanese 8000 grit (there are different grit standards) probably will produce a much finer edge than the coffee cup, since it will allow a more consistent grinding (personally I see the coffee cup primarily as an expedient for when you don't have proper sharpening abrasives). To see for...

What to buy for my new 590A1?

A bayonet you silly goose! I will get one of these guns someday, but I already have the bayonet for it: the OKC3 Marines bayonet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OKC-3S_bayonet

Copper scouring pads for cleaning chambers and barrels.

+1 on Abrasive being in most Scotch Brite pads. However, the Blue Scotch Brite pads, and their imitators, (as long as they are rated for use with non stick pans) do not have any abrasive in them, but still have good scrubbing power.

    SIG Mosquito?

I got one Last October. +1 on CCI mini mags, especially for break in. Use the more slender looking of the recoil springs (this is the "white spring") for normal ammo. The only thing I would have done different was to have gotten the inch longer, threaded barrel version. You can put a...

Any WWI or WWII sword guys here ???

Forgive me if you know this already, but: Whatever you do, DO NOT CLEAN THEM this can greatly reduce their value. +1 to getting them appraised

    Tumbling humor

In your opinion what is the best non-firearm weapon?

For the given criteria: Spear with a cut/thrust blade. use the opposite end for less lethal work.

Well if it is satire, the difficulty in telling if it is satire points out how extreme the viewpoints of some people are.

D Dupleks: Steel Shuttlecock Slugs from Latvia

Came across some interesting rounds on 4chan's /K. http://www.ddupleks.lv/EN/articles/show/products Summary: The Monolit: Slugs that are just flat faced forward heavy with a plastic skirt at the rear so they will act like a shuttlecock. Don't look like they would have any advantage...
