Opinions?

I'm thinking about picking one up soon for plinking and practice. Plus, everyone needs a good .22 pistol, and I don't care for a .22 revolver.

Early mosquitos had some functioning problems. That gave them a bad rap. I bought one anyway and couldn't be happier. Except for their appetite for not liking to digest certain less powerful .22's, I love it. Sig recommends CCI mini-mags and for awhile was even giving you a coupon for $10 back as an incentive to buy them. It is light, accurate and the same as my P-220 only alot cheaper to shoot. The only drawback is that in America they ship with only 1 mag, in Europe you get 2. Happy shooting!

Breakin is important on Skeeters. Read the manual and follow the instructions. Use CCI minimags for the first 400 rounds at the minimum. After that they get a little more robust in terms of ammo. Fun little shooter.

Can anyone give some insight on the .22 sig. I purchased one last april and have not had much of a chance to sho. ot it. It comes with two springs, one for regular velocity 22's, and the other for high velocity. I shot the gun probably 50 rounds and had a couple of jams with the viper Remington 22's. I really can't tell which spring is to be used for which load according to the manual. I would appreciate the input.

To thub I would think the stiffer spring is for hotter loads but could be mistaken as for the skeeter a friend of mine bought one and it is as reliable as my Phoenix Arms HP22 (not very).

Use the white spring, and memory serves, there is a small and a larger end. Not sure with end goes toward the muzzle, try it both ways and see which works best.

Had an early one and sold it as quickly as I bought it. If it only shot as good as it looks. There are much better 22's for the money. Research. Be patient. Buy it right the first time.

I purchased one last November and could not be happier.
My original intent was to use it as a trainer for my wife and daughter.
It fulfills that roll very well. They are becoming very proficient with all aspects of draw/shoot/reload/jam clearance etc.
I have really enjoyed shooting it myself.
Very cheap practice.
It is lively enough that the sights must be realigned for each consecutive shot – it’s a very good training tool that happens to be VERY fun.
I have found several higher velocity 37 to 40gr that work 100% reliably.
Great gun.
The only problem I had was finding/getting 3 spare mags.
New mags are plastic but have worked flawlessly.

I purchased a SIG Mosquito about a month ago. I had been looking at them for 3 years and always wanted one but was worried about the stories of jamming and being very picky about ammo.

Mine is very reliable and a blast to shoot. I shot about 100 rounds of mini mags before I tried others. Mine is 100% with mini mags (200rds), 100% with CCI Blazer (200 rds), about 90% with Remington Thunderbolt (500 rds) , and about 60% with Federal Champions(150 rds). My brother tried a magazine of his Winchester 333 and it would not function at all.

I paid 349 for the reverse two tone. It is one of my favorite guns. Enjoyable to shoot. Trigger pull isn't great. I keep mine clean and lubed. I use the spring that was installed which is the regular one I believe.

I would definitely recommend this gun to anyone. I have not had many issues with mine.

They have the magazines for these at Academy Sports in Augusta, GA. The price is $30 plus 2.10 tax for a total of $32.10 each. These mags will fit in a small USPS flat rate box for $6 or $7 dollars. 2 extra mags end up being about $35 each shipped. Let me know if anyone is interested. I am not charging anything to get these for you guys just letting you know the availability. The cheapest price I found online was $36 each plus $9 shipping. There is no lower price unless you are a dealer and can pass it on to others. Cheapest way I know to get the magazines. I really don't want to ship to anyone unless you are in a very remote area and do not have access to an Academy Sports Outdoor store.
Cheers.

I got one Last October. +1 on CCI mini mags, especially for break in. Use the more slender looking of the recoil springs (this is the "white spring") for normal ammo.

The only thing I would have done different was to have gotten the inch longer, threaded barrel version. You can put a suppressor on it, or a flash suppressor on it for the fun of it. Also, better muzzle velocity.

I've got more than 600 rounds throught mine (all CCI Mini-Mags) and ZERO problems. Clean the pistol before first use, use Mini-Mags and you should be good to go.

I disliked mine immensely. It would on average jam twice per mag, regardless of the ammo I used. I tried Minimags, Minimag HP, Federal bulk, Golden Bullets, Automatch, etc. I tried to "break it in" by shooting a brick in one day with cleaning in the middle, but to no avail. The sights were terrible too.

My only problem with them, is that the grip is a little too small for my hand. But I am a fat guy, with fat guy hands.
