The stock Tamer grip is very controllable. The longer grip is also very controllable and comfortable but isn't a good pocket carry option. Hogue's boot grip for the lcr is very concealment friendly but only let's me get one (and a half) fingers around the grip. I can shoot it but it feels as if...
Moving target book max is an increasing frustration. My favorite 10mm load is under the data in my books.....9 grains of Longshot under a 180 grain RMR fmj or Hornady Xtp. OAL of 1.250
It is an extremely versatile powder. Usable in everything from 1 oz 12 gauge loads through Steel shot loads and just about every handgun cartridge- and a top performer in some....but it does not meter well. Sorry to see it go. Glad I have a few pounds left.
I don't know what your seating depth is.....I loaded at least 2000 9mm with 4 grains of Red Dot under a 124 plated flat point.. I think those were seated to 1.045 OAL - I'd have to check my notes to verify but I do remember velocity was about 1050. 6.1 seems to be too much of a good thing .
GLOCK, KCI AND ETS magazines have never given me problems. I would avoid the old PW mags. (Lots of issues). I have never had a Magpul Glock mag but their reputation is good.
Any one of them on the right occasion....but the .38 most often. Lighter weight matters in daily carry for me.....I have enough trouble keeping my britches up!
Mcb, I too would like a very small revolver with a short cylinder for a savings in weight and bulk. However, I would like to point out that while "longer" barrel for the same overall length is technically true and a shorter cylinder throat run has some theoretical advantages, ballistically it is...
The thought flitted through my mind when I wrote .38 S&W +P to say 9mm parabellum or 9mm Federal but I let it flit on by. Of course those are the real answers to a higher pressure short "38".
I don't consider the OP's dream a nightmare but my own similar dream differs a bit. I wish S&W would reintroduce the I frame as a 6 shot .32 H&R mag. I would like a 5 shot .38 S&W +P also but given the large numbers of old weak .38 S&W revolvers I don't think that is likely. Of course I want...
I had a bright blued 4 inch Sentinal 22 lr long ago. I really liked it but it was stolen 30 years ago. Eventually I found another. This one is matte finished and not as smooth functioning....but it works and is my best .22 revolver. Plastic grips feel decent but not nearly as pretty as the...
