Ruger LC9 Trigger Not Engaging Hammer

My mother in law bought an LC9 a few years back, and shot it maybe three times. she put it away, gave it to me because I guess I don't have enough guns. I pull the trigger, but it doesn't engage anything. I don't know what to take pictures of to help.

    Which .45, Redhawk or S&W 25 Series?

I'm on the verge of finally being able to buy my big, modern DA revolver in .45 Colt, something I've been waiting for a long time. Ruger and Smith both make good guns, and this is easily going to be the most expensive gun purchase of my life, maybe the most expensive I'll ever make (unless I...

    Ruger sr40c recoil spring weight

I'm looking to replace the guide rod/springs on a sr40c, and wanted some first-hand advice on what weight to purchase. They say factory standard is 16lbs., but would an 18lb. setup make for less felt recoil with standard pressure ammo...or only result in FTEs and more issues than it's worth...

    Missing the Security-Six?

I sometimes think I'm the only one who misses the Ruger Security-Six. Or who still thinks of the GP-100 as being the new double action .357 offered by Ruger. I remember standing at a gun counter years ago and hefting a GP-100 and thinking it felt awfully awkward and front heavy; and wondering...

What's the black magic surrounding revos?

Why do so many treat the design and manufacture of double-action revos as if they're akin to designing and building space satellites or high tech automobiles? If you really consider a DA revo from a machine design/product engineering standpoint, they're not that big of a deal. Particularly...

    NEW RUGER Security Six

I posted several times of how found I am of the RUGER Security Six. I like the new GP-100 in the Match Champion and limited editions with a non-full lugged barrel, but the 6's are still lighter and I feel better balanced. I heard that the Six series was more expensive to make than the GP-100...

Figuring out my carbine/ revolver combo

Hey all, Been meaning to get this testing done for a couple months but with kung flu and a busy life I've been too busy. I bought a ruger 77/357 in early March with the intention of using it as a light, handy camp rifle & general plinker . it was also intended to be paired with my favorite and...

Ruger No. 1 in 257 Roberts

I’ve got a chance to pick one of these rifles NIB for $1000. Pretty sure I’m going to snatch it up. Anything in particular I need to about it? If it shoots half as good as my No. 1 257 WM, I’ll be happy with the accuracy. The rifle is about 10 years old which puts it in the golden age for No. 1...

Hard cast bullets for .357 Mag revolvers.

I have some Ruger .357 Mag revolvers, specifcally a pair of Ruger KLCRs in addition to an SP101 3" and GP100 6". I'd like to work up a hard cast load for critter defense when hiking trails up here in NW Montana. I've been carrying a Ruger SRH Bowen Alaskan (.454 Casull) and RH 4.2" (.45 Colt)...

Ruger Precision Rifle spontanious bolt disassembly?

Just had a curious incident and I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue, or might know the root cause. I took my RPR to the range Sunday and fired 50 rounds, ranges 400 yds to 1,020 yds, it shot fine, I didn't notice anything off while shooting, no funny fliers, bolt lift, etc. I...

    AR’s in New York

Hey all, I’ve been thinking about buying my first AR. I’m not too sure if I can just buy the ones I’ve been looking at, especially in New York I don’t know too much about the AR requirements and laws. Anyone have a good knowledge of this? I was looking at a couple reliable starter ones such as...

Thoughts on the Ruger American in 45 acp?

Hi all. I've had the opportunity to handle the 45 American but have never actually fired one. I'm mainly wondering if anyone out there has a good bit of experience with this pistol and any quirks it may have. If there is enough favor i'll probably pick one up as my first striker fired pistol.

Sending another revolver to Bowen Classic Arms Corp.

A couple of years ago I sent a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan to Bowen Classic Arms to have him convert it to a 4" barreled model. He did a fantastic job and now I'm sending the Ruger Redhawk out this coming Monday. There isn't much that he can do but it will come back in better shape than when...

Ruger Mark II "Katrina" at 25 yards

This Mark II was recovered from his family home by its original owner after a month under water in Metairie, Louisiana, following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He immediately plunked it into a bucket of motor oil for several weeks while working to salvage other family items. Gave it to me here in...

    Super blackhawk bisley owners?

Hey all, As some of you may have seen previously, i am allowed (by wife rule) one, yes one, firearm purchase per year. I discussed before possibly waiting on a great deal on a FA model 83 with a 10" barrel that i can get but would need to wait until a friend inevitably needs money this winter VS...

I Should Carry My Ruger Speed Six More Often

I went for a walk in the woods yesterday. I decided 6 rounds of 158 grain semi-jacketed semi-wadcutters was a better option in the woods than 9 rounds of 9mm so I threaded the no-name holster I have for the Ruger on my carry belt, dropped a speed loader in my cargo pants side pocket, holstered...
