Does anyone but Leupold make 1-4x 20mm scope covers I refuse to pay $65.00 for Leupold's. I had Butler Creek's covers but after 15 years it broke. Butler Creek seems to discontinued them.

Thanks

I just bought the 1.5 - 4X Leupold AR scope and I am wondering the same thing. I've always keep my scoped 'naked' and never had a problem. I've bought cheap plastic flip up covers (I think they were Butler Creeks) and they just break after like me blowing on it, so I've just kept them uncovered. I know, if I go into the jungle and through mud bogs, I will need a cover, but of all the hunting I've done, never needed a cover. Sure, I'd like to have a cover, but I'm like you, I ain't paying $65. I guess they are aluminum, which I guess is worth it, compared to the plastic ones.

I assume you're talking about the Alumina flip up scope caps, because the neoprene (or similar material) Leupold scope covers are about $20 (just checked on Amazon). The Alumina caps are one of the reasons that I prefer Leupold scopes. They are very well made and since they screw in, they don't slip or move when trying to open and close like the slip on caps. In fact, they open and close very easily (but don't pop open accidentally).

Regarding the bikini style caps/covers, the elastic always seems to stretch and then they're loose on the scope.

Alumina caps are much higher quality than the other options, but you pay for quality. Buy once, cry once.

I really like the neoprene covers because they protect the scope from bangs when traveling, and protect other things from the scopes when moving in and out of the safe. they are not something I hunt with.

So I called Butler Creek and they did not have this size listed on their chart and did not have them in inventory. But they were able provide me with the UPC code. I did a search with code and it popped on Amazon. If you searched without the code it would not show. It is probably old stock. Other sites listed the cover but did not have it in stock.
The Alunina covers as per Leupold do not work on scopes made prior to 2007.
I like the neoprene and bikini covers for traveling but not in the woods on snowy days.
