10-7 $650?

if it is pretty solid and checked out, I would ask about an offer of $550. compare it to the price of a new one - and the new one comes with the lock just to be annoying.

The older S&W's have jumped up considerably in the past few years around here. $650 for that would be a good price from what Ive been seeing.
I only started buying Smith’s & Colts in the last year. What was these gun going for say 5 years ago?

I bought a very similar conditioned 10-5 right about 6 years ago for $289 plus tax. Got them to knock $10 off the asking price.

Ridiculously good value and has turned out to be one of my faves.
I love a pre lock Model 10! the shape, look, feel! CLASSIC

BTW..$289! WOW they have they gone up in price. Lots of my mid-40’s friends are getting into the same guns. we all got tired of Glocks 😂

Funny thing is - had I bought 5 or 6 years before that, the price would have been much closer to $189 than $289!

Thank goodness I had the good sense to recognize the value when I did.
Better late than never.

As the old saying goes - you don't pay too much...
... you just buy too soon ...

$189… 10-12 years ago… that’s a 3x jump! WOW

Here in California that would be a fair price - our laws have made them rare and hard to get. In most other parts of the country, though, that seems a little high. If I was desperate for one I wouldn't worry about that extra $100, but otherwise I would keep waiting and looking.

Sold a 4" 10-5 in similar condition last year, $550, and I bought a nickel 10-8 that hasn't been fired since leaving the factory for $650. I personally wouldn't pay more than $500, but I already have M10's. There are a lot of M10's out there and a its one of the quintessential sock drawer guns so high condition M10's are pretty common, aren't worth a whole lot more than shooters, and I doubt they ever will be. My LGS has a high condition 10-7 with box and they want $900, they have been sitting on it for a while at that price.
Unless its something special or a low/no dash, a LNiB M10 isn't currently worth more than $750 imo.
If you just have to have a high condition M10, that one isn't bad and is an alright price.

10 years ago $189 would have been a smoking hot deal at any shop or auction site I watch. I bought a nice model 10-8 on 2/19/14 from armslist for $250 and have noted that the going rate at that time was $400/$450
Aint that the truth. My first 10-8 cost me $250, my first 10-5 (98%+) cost me $239, my second 10-5 cost me $200, then I stopped buying M10's for a while....then I went to look again a few years later and was a little shocked at what had happened since I'd been gone. In the span of a few years revolvers in general went from surplus to collectible.
