Smith& Wesson model 10

Hey guys, I found a 2 inch model 10 smith & wesson- no improvement numbers today . Serial number in the C566800 range. Like I said it is a model 10 with no slash marks or other improvement numbers. It has good bluing for it age, a little holster wear at the muzzle, The diamond grips show some wear but no cracks or chips, it locks up tight and the bore is bright and clean. Can any tell me the year of manufacture and if I paid too much at $350.00. Thanks for any information.

Depends on the market in your area, look at it this way, maybe you just bought it a year or two early 'cause Model 10 prices are not going down, at least from what I see.

I had a 10-2 a few years back. Bought it used, and put 30,000+ HOT handloads through it. Finally broke a 75 cent spring, then it was back in action. Guy I traded it to still shoots it.

I have the 64, which is the stainless brother to a 10 and I dearly love it.

Hi, nice gun, since I always wanted one have been watching the local shops. Yesterday, there was a like new model 10 w/box and original reciept in showcase. It was $259 w/NYPD holster.
I thought this was a fair price but still thought it a little high since original bill of sale was $117.
Anyway picked it up and added another gun I did'nt need to my pile

A year or two ago, I was fortunate enough to purchase a blue Model 10-5 snubbie for $200. I later purchased a nickel Model 10-5 snubbie with weird hillbilly grips for $179. A $20 set of correct S&W grips brought it to $200.

This year I considered a badly battered and worn Model 10-5 snubbie for $225. If I did not own the other two, I might have purchased it.

The Model 10 snub is escalating in price. The C serialed guns are going up quickest, especially in primo condition. Some may say you paid to much, but I figure you did just fine.

You got a nice revolver, and you will enjoy it. That is what counts. The $50-75 you might have overpaid will be re-earned with the next paycheck. The opportunity to buy this particular revolver might not appear again for several years, if at all.

Hearty agreement. I know people who will turn down something they've wanted for years because they thought it was $25 too much. This I do not understand.
