Just got into 10mm and Wow is the brass expense. I got about 80 range pickups and that will work fine for load development. But, was shopping for more… used $.20-$.23 each - new $.22-$.30 each. What Gives?

Then I seen one of my locals had loaded 180g JHP for $27/50 factory ammo. Should I break my cardinal rule and buy Factory Ammo???

Buy factory to get brass. Your looking at essentially the same price as hand loads when you add up all the components.

If ya get factory ammo you get to shoot it and keep the brass for future reloads. The factory ammo will give you an indication of how your pistol functions. Also handy for basic measurements when setting up your dies.
Also be prepared to chase brass. My 10mm’s throw brass into the next county.

I've only seen 10mm available for less than 60c per round a couple times in the last year. I guess demand is low enough that it is not high priority for the manufacturer. 22c for new brass? I'd buy some of those. I paid 37c each at the lgs just to make up for the brass I lose from mine getting ejected into the next county. I won't be doing that again, just a little piece of mind for me. That was the first time I ever bought new brass, so I'm not sure what it normally went for.

I heard that about the 10mm! I got one Semi and one wheel.

I’ll get some, Chrono it, then if it’s light loads, pulling a box for the components. 180gn 10mm JHP bullets are $18/100

I have a glock 20 that throws them consistent.
I picked up a butt loaded pistol range brass and have some 10mm somewhere in the mix.
I bought them plastic separator pans to separate the different calibers. I tumble the 40 & 10mm together then separate if on the drying racks.
I sent a bunch to my two sons a couple of months ago. They both have 10mm kimbers. .

my brother who gives my tons of supplies refuses to part with his 10mm brass. “You on your own little brother” lol

I’ve seen two 10mm cases at my local range over the last 3 months. I’ve found everything else under the sun, even 357Sig. Basically never see 10mm.
