Seems to be at the upper end of WSF range, powders that meters well thru dillon powder drop a plus, suggestions? 9mm by the way

That will depend on the bullets seating depth. The less room left in the case for powder, the higher the pressure before getting to higher velocity.

I'm able to get that velocity with most 124s using Accurate No. 7. That's been my 9mm powder for as long as I can remember. Good for duplicating factory loads.

5.6 grs of BE-86 under 124 gr XTP, seated to 1.12" gets 1150 FPS from 4" barrel. This will "plunk" in my SR9e. Be sure to plunk test your handgun.

My buddys running powerpistol for 1100ish out of my 5.25" canik, hes at book max i believe.

Also HS-6, Typical fine ball powder meters perfectly. Just over the 1100 mark from a my S&W 6906 3.5" barrel, close to 1200 from 4.5 CZ85. Not showing excessive pressure but pretty stout.

I will second the Accurate #7 for 135gr bullets. For 124gr I'm liking Be-86.

BE-86 will get you 1100 fps with the start charge and meter very well through Dillon powder measure - https://www.speer-ammo.com/download...m_caliber_355-366_dia/9mm_Luger__124_rev1.pdf
  • Blue Dot 1121 - 1238 fps
  • BE-86 1124 - 1199 fps
  • Unique 1080 - 1180 fps
  • No. 7 1077 - 1180 fps
  • 3N37 1063 - 1179 fps
  • Power Pistol 1033 - 1157 fps
  • AutoComp 1075 - 1156 fps
  • CFE Pistol 1024 - 1127 fps

Out of my purpose-built race gun, I use HS-6 in 9 Major loads to go way, way past that. If you've got the barrel length, 1100 fps should be no sweat for any of the powders people typically use for 9 Major.

ETA: Along with HS-6, some of the common 9 Major powder choices include AA#7, Silhouette, VV N350, 3n37, and 3n38, and AutoComp. Some people have also used CFE. I have experience with just under half of those, but I can confidently say that nobody bothers developing a gamer load with anything that doesn't meter well. The volumes required are way, way too high to even consider something that won't reliably drop on a progressive.

Probably quite few that will get you there, but I have used both BE86 and Silhouette for full power stuff
Both will get you there.

Ignore the REM GS data unless you are using that bullet.

If you need powder and have a hard time finding other things Longshot should get you there as well, but
1. It is loud
2. It is really only happy at the high/MAX side of it's charge range in 9mm IMO.

  • Blue Dot 1121 - 1238 fps

OP didn't specify the bullet. +1 on Speer data sheet.

Caution: Blue Dot numbers may be a bit hot. I recently developed a 124 Gold Dot clone for range practice, using 124 Gold Dot pulls. Initial Blue Dot was 1193 fps (7.1 gr) and 1323 fps (7.5gr). KKM 40-9 barrel may have been still breaking in. Later, got 1167 fps (6.5gr). 1.118" OAL, no crimp. Range notes indicate "sooty" at speeds under 1130 fps.

Based on the OP's slower 1100 fps requirement, I'd recommend a faster powder than Blue Dot. Maybe CFE-Pistol, but it's small-grained and slightly leaks through my Lee Auto Drum.

For me, BE-86 is awesome for 1,100+ FPS Be careful with Alliant load data. I have found it to be on the hot side. I also use the RMR multi purpose 124 Gr. JHP's 5.4 Gr. BE-86 @ 1.092 will put me at 1,130 FPS with a 4" barrel.
5" barrel puts it at 1,170 and right at 1,200 out of my Keltek Sub 2K
