147 Subsonic Suppressor load, powder recommend

If you already have HP38, why not start with that???

What are your goals? Pistol or rifle? Offhand? Range?

If it's offhand at shorter ranges, you won't see a significant difference between Berrys and RMR at short range.
If you already have 800 Berrys bullets and plenty of HP38... LOAD EM UP! It will provide great practice. It's basically free at this point. After you've exhausted your supply, then pick up some different bullets, and if you want to try a different powder, give that a try.
I am! want to see for myself! range report on HP38 + 147 Berry !

YES! THANKS A TON
If you decide to buy some VV powders, download their app. It’s way better than the Hornady app IMO and it is free. They also have a pretty nice .PDF but not phone friendly. Works fine on a tablet or laptop though.

I got 2,000 124 berry! hopefully I can get them subsonic!
It's possible, but painful, and they might not cycle some guns. Definitely preferable to use the 147s for sub work. My experience with sub 124s is that you can get full function with the can, but with can off, you might get short cycling, and might not lock back on last round.

I got alot to learn

Back about 6 or 8 years ago I succumbed to the Siren call of Titegroup and purchased a 4-pound jug.

Oh, that I should live long enough to see the bottom of that jug!

Mercy me, when they send my corpse to the crematory they can use what's left in that bottle to start the fire!

On a completely unrelated note, I think fast powders work better with a can because there is less gas created than with slower powders.
And suppression is all about managing the hot gasses.
Aint this the truth!
I bought 8#, I have about 3ish# left.
It wasnt a bad buy, back when I bought it, it was $14 a pound in singles and a 4# for like $48, so it was worth it

If you are buying them for accuracy, your not buying the correct product.
I would like both accuracy & 147. consensus is RMR 147’s and VV powder.

For now, I’m going to load some berry 147’s for hush fun with old powder I’m going to burn up.

Suppressor is a Banish 45 and host will be CZP07 & CZ Scorpion

It is not very often that a JHP isn’t the most accurate handgun bullet and quite often that plated ones are at the bottom of the accuracy list.
RMR has a JHP called the 'Nuke' that is only about a penny more per bullet than their FMJ... but they only come in 115 and 124 grain in 9mm.

If you're shooting a pistol, reloading 124 grain bullets at subsonic velocities is easy. 99% of the starting loads are subsonic and probably 25% of the max loads are still subsonic. Out of a rifle it might be a little harder but still possible.

Me too. My first silencers (Banish 30 and Banish 22K) just got tax stamps approved Saturday! Completed all paperwork and made final payment today (3 months early), but now I am realizing I need a 9MM can for a PCC! Ugh, starting that grind all over again! Will wait to see what Black Friday brings for sales.

Welcome to the HUSH NOOB CLUB!

I’m just testing what I have for now, don’t want to sit on a bunch of powder and bullets..

bet that Banish 30 will shoot 9mm! my Banish 45 is very LONG.

So, I’m setting up for 147 Berry (cuz I got it) Universal 3.5g and will be doing 950-ish, should be hush for both PCC and 9mm

In a few… I’m going back on a Payment Plan for a rifle suppressor! love the payment plan!

Good info…thanks!

I will be accumulating another few thousand 9MM bullets over the winter and now will switch over to RMR 147’s. I’ll still have a good amount of 124’s (my favorite) but I do want to set up my PCC with a can down the road.

Is it rated for rifles? I thought the Banish 45 is a pistol can?

I was looking at the Banish 46 because, well, because they make a 46 (LOL!!!). But maybe the 45 is the right answer .
the Banish 45 is effective on 300 BLK Sub-Sonic … says on the website and company video

300 BLK sub should be easy to load! Got 450 cases coming in very soon!

EDIT! 30caliber is .300 and 9mm is .356! so don’t shoot 9mm thur a 30 caliber anything

Well, it will shoot it once…don’t have high hopes for a second round. LOL!

You seem to be a bit “caliber challenged”, Bro!

Still love ya, though!

10.5 grains of IMR 4227 works REALLY well with the Berrys 220 grain plated bullet in 300BO. Tested a lot of different powders. 4227 worked best in my 10.5" barreled Palmetto State Armory AR15.

LOL! Yeah, now that us early adopters have worked out all the kinks and all you have to do is look up load data;-) When you go to shoot your first batch....take a moment of silence for all those guys that started cold and spend many a range day rodding stuck bullets out of barrels.

Also, bit of advice....clarify exactly what your can is rated for, just saying 300 BLK isn't good enough. Most of the pistol cans are ONLY rated for SUBSONIC blackout, and a minimum 10 inch barrel....a few are rated down to 7.5 and a few are rated for a minimum of a 16 inch barrel. And if your can is capable of shooting wet.....you need to clarify if it's ok to shoot it wet with 300 BLK.

If you are still in the market for a rifle can, I'd recommend the Hybrid 46. Hearing safe up to 338 Lapua Magnum (which is what I bought it for). I'm also a big fan of ASR, and now have ASR adapters on all my rifles that have a threaded barrel. The ASR adapters come in the form of simple birdcage type flash hiders, up to multi-port hate brakes. Once install, it's a quick attach, just spin and lock for your can. No more dorking with pistons, or thread adapters, or whatever.

Personally, I think everyone needs a minimum of 3 suppressors. A pistol can, a rimfire can, and a rifle can.

We will definitely pour one out for you OG’s who did all the work! Because we will be ASKING over & over & over for more load data!
