$149 Ithaca 12 gauge?

I own an Ithaca M37 DSPS 12ga. Used to have three shotguns set up for HD/SD duty, but the Ithaca is the only one remaining in "social" configuration.

The 37 is a light, trim design and more pointable than most contemporary shotguns. As with most John Browning designs, it is elegant and worth your while to tear down and re-assemble at least once.

Would love to have a M37 with an old-school Poly-choke. Saw a 20ga version a couple years back with such and by the time I had the disposable cash in hand, some lucky SOB had snatched it up.
I had one with a Cutts Compensator choke setup complete with wrench, and three other tubes. Sold the box with the wrench and tubes at a gun show, gave the gun to a friend for a wedding present. I currently do have a 37 as my HD shotgun.

I had a 37 feather weight 20 ga that I bought new in '68 or '69. Took a lot of quail and pheasants in the wheat fields of Kansas. Sadly I sold it whn Imwent into the Navy in '72.

"I just have a soft spot for old character-filled pumps with wood furniture"

A weakness I also have. I bought a 16 ga. Model 37 a few years ago. As it turned out, it's my favorite pump! That's not a bad price. I'm betting you wont be disappointed.

Ole' Ithaca 37 in very good condition with fixed choke & ribless barrel in very good shape costs around $300 or about $50 to $75 more than it did 30 years ago. Hard to beat.
