I've used the 120 and 140gr ttsx bullets and they bothe shoot awesome the closer to max load that you get. I got some 160 tsx and loaded 5 at 61gr or rl22 and they shot about 1 3/4 @ 100yds. Anyone have a pet load or load expiriece with them? I'm shooting a 26" barrel 1-9.5 twist. I shoot 162 amax great all day so its not the wieght. I'm seating bullet to just off my lands like the 140s. Thanks

In my experience with Barnes TSX bullets (in a 30.06 load), they prefer a bit of "jump" and group better if not loaded close to the lands. A call to the Barnes customer support confirmed this.

Agreed - Barnes TSX / TTSX bullets prefer to have some jump into the lands. The factory recommends starting a load off between .030-.070" off the lands.

I've done load workups and terminal testing in several calibers for the TSX/TTSX bullets and can assure you that they tend to be accurate as "anything" out of most rifles. And man do they cut a wound cavity.

My personal experience has been to cut the difference in half and start loads at .050" off the lands. The same experience has also shown that it's few and far between that I need to fiddle with that depth - and in those rare occasions that I do moving in to .040 or .030 usually centers things quickly.

I'm also very interested in the barnes tipped tsx for a 30-06... anyone use these? are they recommended for short distances? how does the copper fly compared to lead? is copper more accurate???
