17 Ackley Bee?

Hello people, I am Damien from Australia and I have recently join this groovy forum.
Currently I'm mulling over a 17 Ackley Bee, meaning which action to build it on? I have a Winchester 1885 low in 32-20 but this rifle is in very rough condition and missing the trigger and trigger plate. Other options are the ever present Martini or Ruger #1 and have it re chambered to the 17 AB.
I love single shots if you havent realised yet.
I would love to hear some opinions/suggestions and comments.

The Martini Cadet would be my choice. The first one I saw was in a shop in Midlands outside Perth in 1985, had 200 yd targets and it was a fine shooter. Since then I have seen a couple of others here in the Intermountain West built up in bolt guns and they are also great.

I have a couple Cadet Martini's one in .17 Khornet which I like better than the Bee. I would use the Bee however if you use the 32-20 Winchester as the extractor is set up for it. I think the Low Wall is plenty strong for a Bee and would look for or have made the parts to fix it (you'd want to reduce the firing pin diameter by bushing it.)

Couple Martini cadets. One is .17K Hornet, other is .22K Hornet

I have a custom .17/.357mag built on a Martini Cadet, and it is indeed a match made in heaven. The rifle is the size and weight of a Red Ryder BB gun (which is to say, you could carry it all day and it would not get heavy) and shoots sub-MOA. Mine has dis-assembled many a varmit.

Thanks for the replys fella's. I have seen many hornets and some rimmed 222's built on martini's and they were superb on bunnies and very light to carry. The winchester still has major apeal in the appearance and classic lines. This is becoming harder and harder. Decent martini actions are becoming harder to find.
