Sweet, I have some wadcutter crosman premier at my dads I'll try next time I go up there.
Don't think I've heard of those air arms
AA Fields are one of the ones I WANTED to test against the JSBs when i got my Qb78R, but I couldnt get them, or something, i dont remember now lol. They are, or were, made by JSB but using a proprietary mold.
The 250 pack of .22 18.1g JSBs Is also staying with you. That little carbine im sending should be able to drive those to around 500fps, and the extra weight may soak up a bit more of the noise. Im currently shooting 15.9s at 595 out of it.

500 fps with a 18.1 is pretty good. Have to go over good what ones I'm sending you, don't want to send the wrong ones lol.

What makes the difference between a pistol pellet and a rifle, thinner skirt?

Usually weight. Rifles will usually drive a heavier pellet then pistols. In the RWS Meister........ the rifle ones are I think 8 grains in .177 where the pistol are 7 grains.
Thats my understanding as well. Tho i believe some designs actually do differ in shape, I dont think the rws do.
I specifically chose the pistol versions to see if you could get a little more velocity from your 853.

Ok thanks, I wonder if there's a standard weight used for the daisy 53 series for the 10M sporter class. Either way I'll try these out.

Are the non lead safe to use in a choked barrel like my lw barrel. Wal-Mart did have one box of crosman copper.

I will say that in my experience driving a light pellet too fast doesn’t yield great results.

I would think the 853 it won't matter to much since its not very powerful. The lighter pellets maybe better if I try to shoot past 10 meters, I'd like to see what it would do at 20m.
they were probably used with 7.9-8.0 like @cslinger said.
I dont know if the aloys are an issue, i tend to avoid them like the plague simply because, also like @cslinger said, Ive never had great performance driving really light pellets fast.....Co2 guns transfer energy much better with heavy pellets and lomger dwell times also, which is another reason ive avoided them.
Ill look into it when i get home today.

Ive not used the Hades yet, but i have shot the destroyers. They work as well as any of the domed pellets on what ive shot, but didnt seem to do anything spectacular.

The destroyer seem like they would just act like a wadcutter at lower speed, wonder what speed they need to open.
On the hades I've seen good and bad, some guys say they shoot as good as a domed. Others not so much, one video I watched guy has a 30lb gun and they didn't open.
Ive driven thr .22 destros to 800+ and they just punch clean thru soft targets. respond the same on pine boards as regular cphs besides cutting a slightly cleaner hole before flattening out a bit.

I wonder if anyone ever try a 17cal v-max in a sabo in a 22 pellet gun.
Are there any fragmenting pellets, could be useful for shooting pigeons in the seeling of barns and silos.
Theres some hollow point designs that are supposed to work with the faster "normal" airguns but for the most part i dont think expanding and fragmentation been a thing for airgun ammo.

Guess you got to think differently with air gun projectiles. Seems guys like good strait line penetration, and different calibers have there sweet spot fps.
Yeah for the regulars it tends to be penetration, and pure frontal area.
.22-.30 cal are "small" game air rifles.
A heavy PCP is more like a powder burner, and can expand pellets or bullets.

I'd like to try something bigger then 22 but new York defines a air rifle 22 and smaller. Seems 12lb is plenty of power, then guys in England can only have -12lb and they shoot just about anything with them.
The more serious airguner have FACs, but 12ft/lbs is plenty for a good bit of small game.
