A year and 7 months after I ordered this barrel I got it today. It looks pretty cool and now I'll try it out.
My 2nd Gen Pocket Police is there for comparison.

Years ago, Dan Kindig, past president of the MLRA, owner of the Log Cabin shop. flintlock champion, stated that the 1862 New police Colt was"The smallest practical percussion revolver." Certainly, the44s are easier to get good accuracy out of,then the 36s, but is it not possible to gt a reasonable group with a carefully loaded 31? By reasonable, I am thinking "minute of rats head" at 15 yards. I have an original 1849 pocket, but it is too "well used" to ask much accuracy from it. Does any one have a 31 that shoots?I made a 31 underhammer with a 3" barrel and was pleasantly surprised at by its accuracy and wallop.
I will do that. Last week I was shooting and did fire one 1862 Navy over the chrono and averaged 900 FPS with a .380 round ball on top of the 18 grain spout-full of 3 F Swiss and lubed wad. I'll try to do the short one yet this week.DDalton, How about a range report comparing it to the 5 1/2 inch barrel when you get the chance.
