Not sure how to answer you. The 1911 is a design and is copied by a great many manufactures ranging from S&W and Sig Sauer to Kimber and Nighthawk to Taurus and Llama.
i think the op is asking about guns that appear at first glance to be 1911s,but have internal differences.
i don't think firing pin safeties,or external extractors would disqualify a gun.
i do think a double action system(double eagle or lda)would. also the obregon's rotating barrel,or the llama's general lack of interchangeable parts would mean that they are not 1911s.
