1911 thumb safety click test fail

I’ve seen that mod discussed before. How much value do you place on it?

Hard to put a value to it beyond the slide cycling smoother and no apparent wear after many thousands of rounds. I know there are purists who value specific attributes of the 1911 but I keep in mind that Browning designed a contract sidearm and was sent back to the drawing board numerous times to add features (like an internal extractor, which I’ve seen many times here the external called an abomination). So as with anything done to enhance performance I can only deduce that the mod is functional and was not much trouble to perform, again while proceeding cautiously. Cost to effort ratio worth it to me.

I know it's been a few months, since posting this. But just wanted to provide an update. Since getting her back from the smith. She's preformed flawlessly. Multiple range trips. Her and I have become far more intimately aquatinted. Not my daily driver any more. But she has more than proven her worth. Got the seer spring and the disconnect replaced. Later went and had the grip housing replaced. Just for myself. Almost went overboard and bought a flared magwell lol. But I think I'll leave her as is for now. Thanks again so much to all the amazing people that helped me along this journey. I've realized I love the 1911 platform more than I intially thought. You guys are awesome.
