Hey all, I figured some of the experienced gunsmiths and troubleshooters could chime in here since yall are always so helpful. So here's the story:

Colt O1991 NRM Series 80, trigger job done by a professional gunsmith, so all creep was removed and it's set around 4-4.5 lbs. Spring loaded takeup engages the Series 80 components, then a crisp release of the sear.

Here is my question, JUST AFTER the spring loaded takeup, series 80 components are engaged, JUST BEFORE the trigger break, there is the tiniest click I can feel and barely hear. I can't narrow it down to what it is, I've been troubleshooting all evening last night and can't figure out what it is. I broke everything down, made sure there weren't any burrs anywhere or anything. Polished the series 80 components lightly, polished the magazine catch where the overtravel stop screw touches it, polished trigger bow and it travels through the tracks very cleanly and smooth, polished the series 80 plunger and that part of the extractor, polished around the overtravel screw, everything seems smooth. When I say polished, I mean lightly polished and not overdone. I can't seem to locate where that slight click is coming from right before the letoff. Without the slide, I don't feel it, but with the slide on it's there. Even without the series 80 plunger, I still felt it. Even with the thumb safety engaged, I feel it. It's not sear movement either because I checked for that too, the sear doesn't move at all (sear click test).

So does anyone have any idea what this tiny click could be? So it's a click that only occurs after the takeup, so maybe it's disconnecter click? Any suggestions or help on how to solve this would be much appreciated, thanks!

Fixed it. It was the disconnector in the recess. I just Flitzed up the recess with after a little 600 grit sanding and works perfectly now no more click. Seems that the disconnector was sticking up too high and the recess wasn't deep enough so just a little polishing removed just enough material to clear it. Hope this helps anyone else with disconnector click issues

I was gonna say disconnecter.

And I was also gonna say to put it together without the grip safety in the way so you can look in there and see what's clicking.

Thanks RC, that's a great way to troubleshoot too. I did that last night to see if I could see what was clicking, saw nothing. But to anyone else, always try that out to see if anything is inside moving around (ie sear, disconnector, etc.) Thanks for that tip RC. It's not always the disconnector that causes that issue from what I've found

Wrap a piece of crocus cloth or any super-fine polishing paper around the end of a wooden popscicle stick----the round end fits very well inside the "disconnector slide notch"

then put a bullet shaped felt bob tip in your dremel tool & use a dab of flitz or maas metal polish rubbed into the felt. Crank up the rpm to about 1000 & put the tip of the bob inside the notch to polish it. Buff clean with a soft towel & bam----sit back & admire your work.

Have used this technique on several 100 1911 pistols since 1991 with no problems. Hope this tip from an old pro is helpful.
