Just purchased a new 1911, as I understand it manufactured by BUL in Israel. (Model is 1911 U) This is, from what I can gather, an officer's model sized pistol. It came with a fixed blade knife with slabs matching the grip slabs on the gun- Really like how this pistol feels in my hands, looking forward to shooting it soon.

Wondering if I can install a magazine well on this gun, (hopefully to add a bit of length to the grip, and realizing that a magazine well would possibly hamper concealability a bit) and if so, can I get a magazine that has a bumper pad on the bottom, like the Kimber magazine? Looking for a magazine with a bit of length to it to be easily inserted into the gun with a mag well installed.

Hope this makes sense- appreciate your input

Never heard of them, so I looked them up. Interesting. Not sure about adding a well. I think there are bumpers that will add to the mag length.

Congrats on the 1911. I’ve read on 1911 centric forums of Bul and seems like they have a smaller, but dedicated following. Or at least are well thought of.

As I’m sure you already know, things like magwells and other 1911 parts can be made to work but almost always require some fitting on your part or a smiths part to fit your pistol. 1911’s just aren’t plug and play like Glocks are, as an example.

Lastly, pics of your new pistol!
