My Micro compact sits at 3 o'clock in a Ross M9-S. I gently reach up to check its lock status a couple of times and hour, most of the time by habit. I just purchased the pistol in November and have been carrying it since. What concerns me- 3 times since November I have reached down to find that it is unlocked. I am in no way new to 1911's and am very aware that the pistol will not AD on me. I carried a Goverment for years, switched to a commander and now, in my old age, even a commander feels like I'm carrying an infant on my hip. The safety positively locks and is rock solid- requiring effort to engage, but it's becoming unlocked somehow. I've tried to retrace my steps to see if there was a common action that's contributing to this, but I can't find any.
Has anyone else had this problem? I'm wondering if some type of thumb-break style holster will help..I just hate thumb-breaks.. one too many actions to clear leather for me.
I should mention that I help a buddy out in his firearms store for a few hours in the morning- not very physically demanding. I can't figure out how she's getting unlocked.
Any ideas?
