Not me! I'm pretty ham handed with my 1911's. They'll chew the snot outta my hand if I don't have a beavertail grip saftey. Hell, I grab them so high that on occasion the slide will rake the top of my hand.
Once the front sight was replaced, and Northern Va Gunworks tuned, it is the sweetest shooter in my arsenal. Grips by the Outstanding craftsman Hakan of Norway.
Citadel compact
Alumagrips are the only modification
It runs like a top with Wilson mags, and eats even the cheapest ammo like candy. Feeds most HP rounds I've tried out, too.
I don't know if it is "sexy" but it is comfortable to carry and easy to shoot well.
Now that is sexy loudmouth. breathing life into an old classic. My dad did some work for a guy in trade for a 1943 wwII 1911. Ill get pics up next time i visit.
It is my carry gun, and I enjoy it every day. It's a tick heavy for daily carry but I've become accustomed to it. I knew with some of the pitting on the slide that it would never be "Perfect" so thats when I did the coating and the sights, figured id get my use out of it. My father in law gave 80$ for it back in the early '80s to a guy he worked with on a strip job outside of London KY. I guess it pays to be the guy that saves your money from week to week instead of blowing it on whiskey.
Sad thing is, after he bought it, it rode in the glove box of an ol Toyota pick up for a good 13yrs, back and forth all over eastern KY for work, till I discovered it last year and had this work done.
