at our bi-weekly trap shot last night I was offered this Winchester nickle steel 20ga 2.5" chamber model 12 made in 1913(# 8080) by a follow trap shooter. well used but all there, 25" full choke barrel with a lot of finish and wood wear, but no rust-pits or cracks-splits in the wood. I have a friend who has and shoots a old german double barrel in 20 ga that's chambered for 2.5" shells that he shoots and will buy a few shells to shoot the Winchester.

I would like to be that well preserved at age 105.

I once shot a friend's very early 12 ga Model 1912.
32" full, it was the only Winchester I could ever break any number of Trap targets with.

Dang, Eastbank! Stuff just seems to fall in your lap!

In the mid sixties my Dad inherited my Grandpa's 1932 Model 12 16 gauge 28" FC, but he was like many others in the day and had to "pretty it up" which meant new fancy wood (birdseye maple), and a complete reblue via Herter's Belgian Blue (hot tank which I helped with).

It shot great and in 1972 I killed two pheasants with it while home on leave from the USAF.

When I worked a Roberts' Shooting Park in Elkhorn NE 1969-70 I had the pleasure of shooting a friends Model 12 20 gauge with a Cutts Comp at a round of skeet.

Fantastic gun but it was LOUD even with muffs on! I think I only shot 22 birds.

Eastbank, please tell me you will keep it as is.

Very nice gun with a low serial.

Thanks for posting!

Regards,

Jim

The stock on that older Model 12 reminds me very much of a Model 97 stock with its shape. I can tell the other Model 12 is newer.

Eastbank, you done good, sir!

Jim

Dang Eastbank, that other Model 12 of yours sure does have some pretty wood, I'll bet the older one does also. I do believe you know what I would do with that older gun, truth is I just can't resist, in making them look factory new/

Nice old classic, I love model 12's. I have two, a 16 and a 20 gauge. Had the 20 gauge almost 55 years, (in October). I want a 12 ga.

Have a blessed day,

Leon
