1950 Target Revolver

Auto-Rims have the edge in accuracy in my 1955...but either will outshoot my aged eyes and shaky, arthritic hands. Still fun tho, seated with a back rest and the gun extended between up-thrust knees (Keith's old long-range position). Lobbing those heavy Lyman 452423 slugs (235 gr LSWC), at my 100 yd railroad tie plates makes for a satisfying afternoon's fun. At ~8x15", they ring stoutly when hit...Thanks for posting Straw, by the looks of 'em, both of yours appear to be in virtually new condition. Actually, the Model 1950 is on it’s second barrel. The original owner used corrosive ammo. The Model 25-2 was purchased from a Bullseye competitor who used it for 15 or 17 years. I got it and used it in PPC competition for a couple of years. Now, it is mostly a range companion.

I like how it came. Those grips that come with the metal in front of the wood look ridiculous. Like trying to make a little snubbie grip work.
Unless you have smaller sized hands. Or what is the point of those grips? Not understanding the change over.

No offense taken. Grips on revolvers are totally dependent on the user. I competed for many years with revolvers. I quickly learned the target grips from S&W were not cut for my hand. My hand grip is wider at the top, by my trigger finger, than by the pinkie. S&W stocks are wider at the bottom than the top, opposite of what my hand is. The Magna grip is closer to the shape my hand can grip easily but I need the space behind the trigger filled in. That is where the grip adapter works it’s magic. I also do not need a wide grip and most target grips are wider than I need.
Rubber grips are closer but I have not found any that actually lock on to the frame. They all shift enough to produce two overlapping but distinct groups from my hand. Okay for hunting and SD but not for targets.
So, they grip adapter with the magnas is my preferred choice.
I do find the factory target grips are a perfect platform to modify to fit the shooters hand. I have done many. Hhere is one set on one of my PPC revolvers.
