I like it, fixed sights and six rounds. That weight will help tame the 357. Hopefully it stays in production a while.

I've never understood the appeal of 2.5" 357 Magnums. The cartridge's performance is choked by that short of a barrel and the ejector stroke doesn't clear magnum cases from the cylinder.

Oh well, to each his own.

I have a 3 and 6 inch GP100. I like the balance of the 3 inch a little more than the 6 inch. Is the 2.5 inch new? I didn't see it on Rugers website. You are right about the weight helping with the recoil. Its a blast to shoot with reloads using H110 powder! Good luck.

If they'd figure out how to get 7 rounds of 357 into the gp100 I'd be all over a 3 inch version.

I did, and I'm mighty tempted to get one, but at 44 oz it sure is heavy... still, the temptation remains...

The thousand dollars (for the Redhawk) is out of my price range, too, but boy, I'd sure like to have one. The ultimate outdoor gun, IMO. Good for Ruger, and thanks to Mitlov for the info and link.

2 1/2 inch with the 'Compact' rubber/wood grips and DAO hammer would be an interesting thing!

So were are these snub GP-100s?

Kind of reminds me of the old Speed Six. Could go for one with a 2.5 or a 3 inch barrel.

Hey, Deafsmith!
Just so happens I have a DAO sear and hammer plus compact grips I'll part with if you have the gun you want to put them in. Drop me a PM if you're actually interested.
