Anybody else see the latest "Handguns" magazine - the one with the Rohrbaugh on the front cover?

Towards the back of the mag is a small but nice picture of 20 brand new Remington Rand 1911's still stacked in their original shipping drum. IIRC, the caption says they are in Springfield Armory's museum. They have never been fired (except for factory testing when originally made), and have only been touched to be catalogued for the museum, which is also the only reason the original packing drum was even opened.

Pretty cool. Wonder what a package like that is worth.

My mistake on the magazine. I looked at quite a few at the store and was going from memory. Thanks for the correction.

Imagine if they were sequentially serial numbered?

They'd better not put them on public display. They'd have to hire somebody full time just to clean the drool off the glass.

I'd love to do a reliability test with one of them. It might shut up the 1911 bashers who can't see the difference between the original combat pistols and the current Colts, Kimbers, Browns, Baers, etc.
