Well I would like to see how everyone did this season My friend and I called out two nice Maine bucks the season on public land. Post your pics here no matter how big or small they are all trophies.

We both rattled out two nice Maine bucks on Public land and I also shot my first deer with a bow this year. Oh, and congrats to everyone on this thread. A lot of beautiful critters posted.

My first bow kill 105 pond doe small but good eating. I got more excited shooting her then my 2 last bucks a 213 pound 10-pt last year and my 201 11-pt this year.

This is my best friends 259 pound (field dressed) 8-pt. That I was so nice to put him on. he rattled it out though.

This is my 201 pound (field dressed) 11-pt buck that I rattled out third week of the season. He would have gone more than that but he had been runing does hard.

I know this is not 07-08 season but I don't think I have posted them here yet.

My 213 pound (field dressed) 10-pt buck from last season:

My Dad's 260 pound (field dressed) 11-pt he shot last year. It was the 5th largest buck (weight wise) shot in Maine last year. The weight is a big factor in Maine. Antlers are nice but if you tell someone you shot a nice buck the first question they will ask is how much did it weigh and then they might ask about the rack.

Thanks, we are blessed with a great piece of family land. Here are some more from a few years back. All three of these deer were shot from hunters sitting in the same spot within 24 hours of each other. So much for the scent of a gut pile scaring the deer away. :)
You have some beautiful deer there, I appreciate seeing a nice mature buck brought down because I know he had to be really smart to get that big and old. Looks like you have found a nice place to hunt.

Good freaking grief. :what: Why do I even try here in NC?

My son, Hunter, and I braved the 35 degree morning (yes, that is real cold on SE Texas!) and I got this 10 pointer. The rifle is a DPMS LR-308AP4 and yes I realize it is not pointing in the correct direction. It is on safe though. :)

Now we are working to find him one! He is more than a little excited now!

My youngest son missed his first shot at a deer on opening morning, but took his first deer that afternoon. He's now hooked on hunting; next year I have to make sure the other son gets his!

I'm sorry, but that made me chuckle :)

Great looking deer. Good luck to your son the rest of the season. Father-son hunting is always great to see.

Foul...not fair. Using a rifle (and scope) shooting those fine huge bucks. :) I wish we could "reachout" and use a rifle here in Ohio. Good hunting guys. Congratulations.

My friend's boy, a sophomore at Texas A and M, has never shot a deer. They grew up north of Waco, not much place to hunt deer. Their dad and grandpas farm just has rabbit and dove to hunt, all crop land, no cover, no deer. So, I put him on a stand this weekend and he got his first, a little spike with one horn broken off, but it coulda been a 12 point with a 22" spread for all they cared, LOL! He also got a 30 lb bobcat that's at the taxidermist. Gonna be a wall rug. Only Larry and the boy (Dustin) eat venison or any game in their family, so I got a good portion of the meat off this one. So, even if I don't get a deer this year, I have some venison to go with the hogs I got and have yet to get, no doubt.

BTW, the gun is a Ruger 77 in .22=250, nice little rifle. The boy can shoot it, no doubt about that! Plenty of rifle for a small spike. He shot through the lungs and there wasn't much left in there. Coulda been a .300 mag for all that deer knew.
