2023 Hunting Picture Thread

Congrats. I was up in the hills at my friend's place yesterday, hoping to be able to post a pic of a crossbow harvested deer on here today. But here's about all that I saw from 11:20 am to 5:30 pm. Got a decent doe at this spot last Nov. 8th and decided to try the same place again. It was a nice day in the upper 40's with zero wind and overcast skies, but there was nothing moving at all other than chipmunks, woodpeckers, (including a large pileated woodpecker), and only one squirrel. I had my first Widow built in 87. This my last one. Arthritis been hammerin me.

First was 62# MA2. Next was PSA2 55#, then a 57# and now.......46# LOL

Picked up 3 used HS 58s..,.59, 55 and 54#, the last was a '91 model and FF rated

Taking next couple weeks off for deer season.
So far no pushing/chasing observed afield.
The ol lady about hit a buck mile down the road, in town, by the park. Said he was pushing a doe.

Congrats.... exactly one year after my first crossbow deer. Never even saw a buck all last season while I was hunting. But last Nov. 8th I managed to get a decent size doe at about 30 lasered yards with an Excalibur crossbow.

Bout a 120" 8 pt laying in median, seen while bringing my deer meat from the processors.
Drove by state ground at 9 am and no trucks seen. No deer in fields either. No turkeys..... no nuthin'.

Gonna hunt my low creek stand tomorrow. Did something to my ankle and am hobbling around.
Thats one way to make sure I pick a spot and stay there LOL.
