I was able to score 1K 62 Grain steel core penetrator FMJ. I have H4895 and H-335 powder and both magnum and standard primers to use. Which of the powders I have would your prefer and do you have a favorite load for either? I have a couple thousand mixed brass cases and about 1K speer nickel 223. Should I start sorting through my brass and use military brass or should I stick with the nickel speer? Thank you!

I'd use the H335, and the magnum SRPs. Nothing wrong with H4895 either I just find it quicker for gen purpose ammo (volume) to throw ball powder into the small case. Mixed brass is fine for the purpose I think, although I'd probably segregate the LC brass from the commercial. As much for quick load ID than anything else - I like to be able to look at a headstamp and know exactly what load and bullet I used.

Sort your brass if you plan to load heavy charges or use 5.56 loads. The case volume matters for hot loads. Your local range may not allow steel core so I expect you may be shooting these afield. Your steel targets will be mutilated.

That...^^^

I'd use H335... because that's what I use. :)
