I have not cared for Remington .22LR ammo for a long time, but the 4.7 cents a round price for the "Bullet Buckets" might be worth trying.
Fleet Farm is ok they kind of gave me a hard time when we wanted to buy 2 buckets. One for me and one for the wife. They had to have her pay for her separate even though it is all the same money. Was a little annoyed at that. So I asked the lady what would happen if one of my kids that shoots and is under 18 wanted to get some for them to shoot? They cannot pay for it themselves as they are under 18. She said I could not get any. Kind of a dumb rule but it their rule.Farm & Fleet rocks! When I call there, the people are knowledgeable about 22 ammo and they tell me if they have it in stock or not and they usually have some in stock.
When I was trying to get enough ammo for my kids to do an Appleseed shoot I was able to get the .22LR at Farm & Fleet.
Yes many of the ones I took out to look at were able to turn the bullet in the case all the way round. We will see how they work. Will probably just use them in the bolt action rifles or the revolver then.I used to love Remington Golden Bullets. I'd buy them at Coast to Coast hardware store and they were, well... they were golden. I never had a problem with them, they just worked in every 22 I had.
Maybe I just got a bad box recently, but it seems the new Golden Bullets are not the same. The cases had marks on them, the bullets seemed awfully wobbly in the case - I can spin the bullet 360° in the case where I can't do that with CCI. I get the occasional dud with the Remington Golden Bullets now.
Ehhhhh..... not bad. Better than online pricing on the Winchester 222s. Are they high velocity rounds?Stopped at the Columbus, Ohio Cabela's today around 11:00 AM. They had quite a few boxes of the Winchester 222 round boxes, copper plated 36 grain HP at $14.99. Also had quite a few bricks (500 rounds) of the high end target ammo at I think $85 a brick. So the Winchester stuff was about 6.75 cents per round. Will likely stop on Sunday on the way home to Cleveland and see what's new.

The packages of 222 count are the 36 Grain Hollow Point Copper Plated Bullets 1280 FPS Velocity. As I mentioned, on our return trip Sunday, The shelves for 22 LR were well stocked but I wasn't taking notes on everything that was there.Ehhhhh..... not bad. I've gotten quite a few in the last month or so. Dick's in Merrillville and Mishawaka, Gander Mountain in Merrillville, Walmart in LaPorte, cabelas in Hammond. Probably close to 4,000 roundsI have not seen any in northern Indiana stores in quite some time. I remember, once .22lr was like the stars, now it has gone the way of the buffalo...
Sweet deal. Is that stuff standard velocity (1070ish fps) or high velocity? (1200+) Yeah it's a lot more expensive than two years ago but it's available and I'd buy it.Got a 500 round brick of Federal 40grain at Cabelas in Hamburg, PA on Saturday morning for 39 dollars.

I finally wandered into that new Gander Mountain store a couple of weeks after they opened. I wasn't impressed. They had a lot of stuff, but their prices were bordering on ridiculous (S&W 637 MSRP is $469, they had it at $449 - my LGS has it for $379).which is less than I paid at the O'fallon Gander Mountain that opened about a month ago.
