I know Dicks isn't that gun friendly but my wife was shopping for her job. She had a 10% off coupon from a supervisor. While she was looking I went back to The Lodge and asked the gun guy if they had .22lr ammo. I get a "Not today" everywhere I go so often I was surprised when he pulled out an ad circular and showed me 525 Remington Golden Bullet on sale. 30/525=.057 per round.

I know from experience it's pretty dirty but it's available. Twice what it used to be but better than it has been. They had it at the registers up front and allowed 2 boxes so I bought a couple boxes. With what I had and what I got I can blast away with my Neos to my hearts content for a few trips. I hope other manufacturers are catching up and other suppliers like Bass Pro, Walmart and my LGS will have .22lr ammo again soon at affordable prices.

Hopefully getting better. I got lucky at Bass Pro yesterday, went in to look for small pistol primers, and always check for .22 out of habit. They had the best selection of .22 I have seen in years - Winchester copper plated (white boxes) 555 ($32) / 333 ($19) / 222 ($13) packs, 300 round boxes of mini mags ($23?), 325 boxes of automatch ($22), some CCI(?) AR / "tactical" .22 boxes of 300 ($21), and even boxes of 200 .22wmr maxi mags (last time I saw this it was around $40, didnt note price this time). Still a 1 box limit on the bulk stuff though - I left with a 555 box and some large pistol primers.

Magnun, I guess Shovelhead's post could be read two different ways. I thought Shovelhead was implying there were cheaper prices than $.05/rnd on his link, ammoseek. I don't shop at Pecker's.

Dick's poisoned the well for me and they have a loooong way to go to redeem themselves before I give them any business that didn't cost them money.

That said, you can watch carefully for online coupons and take advantage of them such that it actually does cost Dick's money so I do encourage people to look for the coupons and wear the out when you get the right deal.

Some people say we are supposed to boycott Dicks because they stopped selling Troy ARs. But we are also supposed to hate Troy because they hired one of the Ruby Ridge snipers. So wouldn't it be good that Dicks stopped selling Troy? LOL
