I have been doing some readings on 243 cartridges of late, as something in that caliber is targeted for my gun rack.
I had pretty much had this narrowed down to a 243 Winchester or a 6MM Remington. I had given the nod to the 6mm Remington by a very close margin as it seems to be easier to get working in a Mauser action, and it is just a little hotter than the 243. The dust is not settled on this yet, just leaning that way. I have seen some of Hornady's new light mag ammo in both these cartridges and I don't think I could live off the difference for 2 minutes.
Then the 243 wssm reared its head, looks interesting, has anyone shot one of these? It looks a lot like a bigger 6mm PPC which might be a good thing from the accurracy side of things. One question I did have is looking on Winchesters sight the I notice the rifles have a 1-10 twist, like the 243 Win. After too much reading on this subject I though the 1-9 was the correct twist for the heavier bullets, or is a 1-10 correct also.
Has anyone shot one of these, or is it too new to get good data on?
