Well here is my thought and looking for some experienced feedback please. I picked up a Browning A-bolt in .325 WSM. Rather than buying several guns I like to interchange barrels that will accept same action. I have done this with my 740 Rem (25-06 / .280 / 30-06) successfully. 15 minutes work and I am holding different caliber rifle. My question is this. Has anyone or does anyone know of a successful resize of the .25 WSM being necked up to accommodate the .280 bullet? More of a curiosity than a plan at this time. Of course the chamber would need to be reworked (if possible) to fit the WSM brass, bored and shortened or bored and sleeved? Thanks.

I cant see any outright issues. The 25 wsm is just necked down 300 wsm if my memory serves me right. Could be a nifty wild cat, but watch the pressure with that heavier bullet.

Fisdit;

A .25WSM? Are you sure? I don't know if that'll make any difference to your plans or not, but I do believe any .25WSM's are custom chamberings, the factory chambering is .25WSSM. Then there's the platform. Browning is known for using extremely stout glues on the barrel threads. Stout to the point that I've heard of threads being pulled during an attempted separation. This is one where I'd consult with a good gunsmith before trying it. I realize that the gun you've got is a .325WSM.
