I agree with you on the '06, but I like to be a little different. So, I also have a 7x57 Mauser, 6.5x55 Mauser, 300 Win Mag and a 444 Marlin..

Welcome to the site. However, don't get us wrong, it isn't an ought-6 or nuthin'. For example, though I'm from outer Montana, I too have a 6.5X55mm Swedish Mauser. And other calibers as well as far as that goes. It's just that the trusty ole .30-06 is the go-to gun should hiccups occur in other guns or plans.

What flavor Swede ya got?

I agree completly...........I have many other calibers, I just really like the 06.

But, I do draw the line on chocolate ice creme. They didn't really need to invent any other flavors.
