.30 Carbine Cases From Any Other Case?

If you could just remove the "readily available" part from your post, I've got an excellent candidate!

Simply neck up 5.7 MMJ or .22 Spitfire cases and you're good to go!

Unfortunately, the only way to obtain either of those cases these days, is to neck down .30 Carbine brass.

On the plus side, Prvi Partizan .30 Carbine ammo is fairly inexpensive and the brass seems to be excellent.

This is why I buy any .30 carb brass I can when the opportunity comes along. It's out there, I just found another couple hundred locally two days ago.

Define "easily fabricated".

FWIW, 30 carbine blanks are commercially made from .223 cases so it's possible to reform more readily available brass into 30 carbine.

Just may not be "easy" or "economical" (for you or your purpose).

.223 Remington Base diameter .376 in (9.6 mm)
.30 Carbine Base diameter .354 in (8.99 mm)

Sizing the case down by .022 in (.61 mm) sounds like a lot of work for someone with a home reloading set. I have no doubt it can be done with industrial strength equipment starting with the same size brass blank disc :) .

H'm. If there's a problem finding .30 M1 carbine brass, my Econ 101 prof would say there's economic opportunity here.

I've bought from Polygunbag many times. Never brass, but thousands of various bullets from them. Always been happy, and I'll always go back. I forgot they have brass.

.30 Carbine Blanks for sale

I have 145 rounds of .30 Carbine Blanks if anyone is interested.

Afraid of losing brass? I've got a fellow reloader who solved that problem by blocking off the gas port, fabricating a forearm hooked to the slide, and shooting it like a slide action. Pretty cool as he doesn't like chasing brass either.
