I have been loading a lot of .30 Carbine for my '44 Underwood lately, and I've been waiting for some bullets to come into stock, I don't want to use all of my Remington 110gr SP bullets.
I was going to get some Berry's plated (Berry's has been a go-to of mine for years), but based on information and reviews I saw here, I decided to order RMR 110gr FMJ bullets today, so we will see. :)

I'm hesitant to order from anyone I have not ordered from before, especially these days, but they have so many positive reviews, I figured I would go for it.

I ordered based on reviews I read here on both the company and the bullets.

I use a lot of 110 gr RN and SP for my wife’s 30M1 carbine, usually loaded over W296. I get good accuracy results. They’re all rem 110gr so don’t know of other efforts, especially for other powder or bullets. I have never had as good of accuracy as I have with the REM. Good luck finding something else to try. Be interesting to try what you find if you post the components.

I don’t love trimming the brass.
But I do love my M1 Carbine, even more since I put on the Ultimak rail and a Romeo 5.
I assume that the Ultimax rail enabled you to mount the dot. Mine is just a standard peep. Where did you find the rail - I would like to put one on mine if I can afford it.

On the Carbine front, we just finished loading around 600rds of mixed cast and Berry's. I had looked at the RMR a while back and they had them then not, like most things nowadays. I will say that the Berry's do run fine and are accurate at least to 50yds. We were loading for both a rifle and a Ruger Blackhawk so had several things to try.

I didn't push any of them to the max loads but the Berry's are averaging around 1930fps for 5 shots with a top vel of just shy of 2K out of our rifle with no ill effects.

With the 123gr RN GC PC cast out of the Ruger BH we got from 1350 up to 1520fps, from the rifle same loads from 1690 to 1850fps.

With the 115gr HP GC PC out of the BH between 1420 up to 1590fps. ( just couldn't get these to function in the rifle ) They could have been single loaded but I wanted to check feed and ejection.

I really wanted the HP'S to work in the rifle but they just had too square of a nose on them to chamber. I am however looking into a nose plug that I might be able to use to swage the nose down to a bit rounder profile. Might close the cavity up some but with the added velocity it really shouldn't matter.

Also kudos on the rare addition. Kept in good shape it would make a fine heirloom someday.

My go-to load right now are Remington 110gr SP over H110 (W296).
I saw the cheap surplus .30 Carbine drying up, so I stocked up a thousand of those bullets over the years, in anticipation of eventually reloading for the M1 Carbine.
Remington had their problems and those bullets are pretty much unobtainium now.

Unfortunately, I have had little luck finding any suitable .30 Carbine FMJ bullets since I started loading them last year.
I did find some interesting 85gr solid copper bullets from Lehigh Defense that shoot well, they are just too damn expensive for making target ammo.
But they made them specifically for the .30 Carbine.

Good to know about the Berry's, I use a lot of Berry's pistol bullets, just never tried any of their Carbine bullets.

I traded some .22 ammo for a box Hornady 90gr XTP/HP and tried those, but they would not feed in the Carbine.

and I also have a .30 Carbine Ruger Blackhawk I load for. :)

I bought a box (100) of these Lehigh Defense 85gr solid copper bullets February of last year.
Has anyone else here tried these?

The look strange, like a square bit drive for a drill, but they do feed properly in the Carbine.

I loaded some up and got some great results,
but, like everything else they disappeared until Feb of this year I was able to get some more from Grafs.
Of course, like everything else, prices are up. But these are also not plinking bullets.

Two 3rnd test groups at 25M:

Group 1 was 14grn of H110 and Group 2 was 14.5gr

My wife bought my Ultimak through Brownells, but you can also buy directly from the company.
It requires no permanent modification to the carbine and is rock solid.
It's made in the USA and they run about $100.

***RMR UPDATE:
USPS says my bullets are out for delivery.
Impressive since I only ordered them on Thursday, so kudos to RMR. - I thought Midway had fast shipping.
I will be loading up some .30 Carbine this afternoon when the bullets arrive. :)
Brass is already sized and primed.

Keep us posted!! I am interested in knowing how they work as plinkers. That nose looks strange, never seen anything like that on a bullet. I have a Carbine but made by Khar arms. How much were the Lehigh and what quanity and how much were the Ultimak and what was the quanity? Thanks, 74man..

The 85gr xtreme Cavitator bullets are currently running $71.99/100 at Grafs. I paid a bit less both times I bought them. Seems every time they come in stock the price is higher. Like $10/box higher.

Made in the USA. Love it. I will start the search, and thanks for the tip on the ultimax.

For reasons I cannot discern, M1 Carbine's shoot cast bullets exceedingly well. I ran across these bullets from Bayou Bullets and, even though I cast my own, ordered 500 mainly because they were so inexpensive. I loaded them over 13.0 gr. of 2400 and they shot fairly well, not as accurate as my own cast, but for the price, they'll work fine for plinking. Best of all, at over 1900 fps, no leading!

Back befor all this silliness I purchased a few K from Missouri Bullet to use in my Blackhawk and carbine. They worked quite well actually. Don't know if they are producing them again yet but you should check them out.

I got the RMR bullets in 3 days and loaded and shot some yesterday.
I'm extremely happy with their service and the performance of these bullets.
