Well first there is all the arfcom posts.
I bought 100 mags, last April/May to resell. Out of those, about 20 had problems. Most of the SS ones needed, filing on the top of the mag, where the bullet tip rides over on it's way into the chamber. The aluminum ones that failed usually fail with the follower getting stuck in the middle of the mag. You can load 15-20 rds or so, and then the follower gets stuck. Turn it upside down, and your ammo falls out. Or you get 30 rds in, and it gets stuck in the middle, while being used. Also some of the newer guys to where I compete, mentioned the same problems, and they didn't even know about my previous purchase. I have also read about another 100+ failures online in different forums. I would say, I have firsthand knoweledge of about 50-75 with the locals too. Now the arfcom posts are starting to pop up. So all in all I would say I've heard about 300+ failed mags. Now take the 1 million approximate sales count from last year, that the owner posted, and the alledged .0006% failure rate they claim to be seeing, and I've seen or heard of half their bad mags.
Then there is the matter of if Cproducts LLC, (the C is short for Creative) is affiliated with a past mag maker that went by the name of Creative Products. To be fair only 1 poster mentioned the possible connection, and wanted to know if they were the same company. He had problems with that companies mags. I think it was said the Creative Products mags from a few years back were crap. Also the owner of Cproducts (Larry), has posted in that thread, and did not confirm, or deny, if they are one and the same.
Most of the locals, just tossed there mags. Some sent them back. I have 1 that I haven't sent back yet, and probably won't. I don't have the time, to bother with 1 mag. I suspect a lot of people feel the same way, and just toss there's.
So I'm seeing mags fail in person, hearing about them online, and now there is a possible link to a previous failed attempt at mags. So there are the details. You can do your own research if you don't believe it. Also I'm pretty sure they did not pass the .mil test. (I can't verify this, it's just what I read online)
To Cproducts credit they are taking back any problem mags. That's the stand up thing to do IMO. I really hope they work things out, as Larry seems like a nice guy. But at this time, I'm not buying any, at least until they work things out. So if anyone wants to buy some Cproducts mags, you really have nothing to lose, except return shipping fees, and some aspirin for your headache.
