Basically settle a friendly bet for me. My brother has been shooting 308 blanks out of his 303 Enfield. I can not help but think this will fatigue the metal in ways it was not meant to be used. He swears it does no harm to his Enfield what so ever. He lives several hundred miles away so I have not had a chance to see the rifle up close and personal. (the blanks were freebies for him) Any opinions will be greatly appreciated

First, there are plastic bodied 7.62x51 blanks, such as those from DAG (I don't know how much "give" they have, but it would have to be a bit I believe). Also, there are Enfields chambered in 7.62x51. Could it be possible he has one? Just a couple thoughts.

Have him send a few pics. Perhaps it's an Ishapore 2A in 7.62x51. I've had one seller at a gun show tell me that it's a WW2 .303 Enfield. :scrutiny:
